general problems of the 2011 Cadillac SRX - part 2

Tl the contact owns a 2011 Cadillac Srx. The contact stated that the beam from the front headlamps were inadequate for safe driving in low light conditions. There was no warning light illuminated. Town & country car and truck center, inc. Located at (30 craft dr, alamosa, CO 81101) and Cadillac of santa fe located at (4450 cerrillos rd, santa fe, nm 87507) were contacted and an estimate was provided for the repairs. The contact also received a customer satisfaction letter that offered to pay a portion of the cost of the repairs. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but offered no assistance. The approximate failure mileage was 131,000.

I noticed all of a sudden I could not see the road, switched to the high beam that's fine now back to low beam it's like I turned off the lights,my lights are on but not bright at all, driving with high beam much as possible hwy & city.

The contact stated that the front head light assemblies had moisture inside from the rain which caused the lens to fog up and making the head light illumination very dim while driving at night. Lights dim almost cause me to crash. Now one not working seems like a lot of issues with this vehicle. Is it to get the nearly $500 repair cost? fix the problem thousands complaining, it's an obvious flaw. Not fair . This is very dangerous will this only be fixed after a tragedy?.

When driving at night with lights on dim you can barely see anything. In order to be able to see anything lights must be on bright, if meeting another driver this makes for a possible hostile interaction as the approaching driver is blinded by the brightness of lights. I took my car to shop only to be informed it is a defect with this model vehicle starting with 2010 models. I was told the price starts at around $1000. 00 for a replacement clip with the probability that lights will do same thing😯. Lights are not blown but instead it is a defect of manufacturer. This needs to be addressed as soon as possible. Night driving is a must for some of us and the feeling of not being able to see very well with lights on dim or making other drivers mad and possibly resulting in an act of road rage makes us feel very unsafe. I have been a Cadillac driver all my life and feel this should be addressed as soon as possible . We should not be held responsible for trying to fix something that in all honesty is not our fault and will only result in spending money that is only going toward a temporary fix still. Please make this right.

Low beams suck.

The low beam headlights are useless for night driving. The operator is required to run high beam during any night time or low light operation. This creates a safety issue for both the operator and any incoming vehicles.

Head lights are dim at night while driving you can't see very far ahead which makes it dangerous to drive at night. You have to use high beam to be able to see. We have replaced the lights and it's not any different. It's scary driving at night. Something needs to be done. I'm surprised there aren't more accidents.

I bought this car used about 2. 5 years ago. Since then I have had to replace the low beam bulb 7 times on both sides. Even when I replace it within a week it is so dim I can hardly see to drive at night. The other morning I was heading to work and I had my high beams on but a car was flashing me so I thought ok I will be alright for just a second with that dim light but when I clicked it to low beam they were non existent and I almost ran off the road. This would have been bad as I was on a country road not heavily traveled. I did not know that they had completely burned out again. I love my caddy but this issue is dangerous and going to force me to get rid of it.

Headlites don't light up road at night need to use high beams.

Mosture/condensation in passenger headlamp assembly, caused reduced illumination and failure of the lamp and supporting electrical assembly.

Low beam does not produce enough light to safely drive at night. High beams are fine. Have replaced bulb but does not work. Very dangerous driving at night.

I purchased my 2011 Cadillac Srx on Feb. 3, 2018 and since have had to replaced the entire headlamps assembly 3 yes 3 times within one month of having this car. Also had to replace back drivers side hub because the stability light came on after having it only 2 weeks. Can not seeing driving at night and gm needs to do a recall on these lights before someone gets killed because of it!!!!.

My headlight assemblies would get condensation and cause the bulb to become dim or burn out. Had to replace bulbs several times but still difficult to see 20 ft in front of me when driving the dark roads in north west new jersey. Was told it was a known issue and to drill holes in the back of the headlight, which I did not do since I didn't want to damage the assemblies. The cost to replace both assemblies would have cost me at least $2000. 00 or more which I did not have. I replaced the assemblies with aftermarket ones and had them installed by my mechanic. I than received the letter from Cadillac that they would reimburse us. I filled the paperwork and sent all the documentation. Never hear back for months so I followed up and was told I was missing the VIN # on the receipts. I resubmitted the documents with the VIN # and again waited. Made 2 more calls one said it was bring processed and should get a check in 90 days the second told me it was still being processed. Waited again for my check and still nothing 2 more phone calls and the second one has now said it was declined. When I ask to speak to a supervisor I was told there was no one there. I asked for a phone # to call someone and again was told there was no # to be given. I kept trying to speak to someone and finally the women told me she was done with our phone call and hung up on me. I don't know what or who to speak with to get this resolved. I am out $1000. 00 for a know safety issue. If I hadn't replaced my headlight assemblies I would not be able to drive my car at night. Please contact me and assist in any way possible. Head light fixture has moister in it. Not sure why. Covers almost half of the fixture. The only way to clean the inside is to take the entire front bumper off of the car. Not an easy task and I'm definitely not a mechanic. Also low beams are very very dim. Can't see much at night without high beams on. Could be caused by the moister. Not in motion. Just over time. Hard to believe it would have went bad. I have saw multiple threads about this same problem. A vehicle flaw is what I would call it.

Headlamps have become so dim they are very dangerous and the only way to drive at night is with high beams which is also not safe for other motorist. I do not see any moisture in either headlamp as others have stated. In reading the other numerous complaints this is a situation that needs to be addressed and repaired by the manufacturer for a faulty and dangerous product.

Low beams have been noticeably dimmer over time. High beams a bright. Low beams seem dangerous.

Head lights full of water.

Constant moisture in the headlamps cause serious vision issues when lights are on dim. Lighting is obstructed and visual of the road is seriously impaired. The dim lights are not functional with consistent moisture. There is a current lawsuit involving other gm vehicles for this very reason. A recall needs to be issued.

Dim lighting due to burned out coating. These headlamps were replaced and the problem persists. This noticed when driving at night.

Moisture accumulation in headlamps and causing them to go very dim, have to drive with them on high beams because I can't afford to pay out of my pocket by may 28, 2020, and wait on refund, and it cost more than the settlement letter will allow! that is simply not right!!! why should we have to pay out of our pockets and loose money on a problem that gm has known about since 2010 and done nothing about until they are sued and then they are still not truly rectifying the problem for those who cannot afford to have it fixed nor pay out of their pocket for the difference it will cost them to have it repaired? this has affected approximately 300,000 Cadillac Srxs nation wide and gm is not willing to do a recall on their own! therefore some people are having to ride around I safely with their high beams on, in which could potentially cause an accident and injure or possibly cause death to themselves or others!!! gm should be made to do a recall to rectify this problem!!!!.

While driving my vehicle on the highway I had a hard time to see the highway & the panel on my dash came on saying my right low beam lamp needed to be checked. I drove home very carefully & parked my car. The next day j brought my car to see about getting the lamp fixed & they told me I needed a whole new light assembly. I've read in the internet that hundreds if not thousands of people are having this same problem in their Cadillac Srx 2011. I think if that many people are having these problems there should be a recall in this make & model car. It will cost over $1400 to fix it. They said there is condensation/water which caused it to go out its. It sealed correctly.

(missing dealer) tl the contact owns a 2011 Cadillac Srx. The contact heard a thumping noise coming from the rear of the vehicle. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the suspension failed and the head lamps were leaking. The suspension and head lamps needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and opened case number: 8/29942455009. The approximate failure mileage was 70,000.

Water intrusion into headlamp caused ballast and bulb to short out.

There is water getting into the lights in making them damn and not work very hard to see at night.

When using low beams it's like driving blind! you can barely see a foot in front of you at night. Must use high beams at night or risk your life due to lack of visibility due to discoloration/problem with lens covers!.

Driving lights went dull. The lense and reflector turned yellow. We had to replace both lights.

When driving at night my low beams shine very very very dim very dangerous to drive at night I looked online and other people are having the same problem with the same year make and model.

Bessemer avenue, greensboro, nc 27405) to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that there was condensation in the headlamps. The contact was informed that the headlamps needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 80,000.

Water is getting into the head lights on both sides of my car.

Vehicle headlamps went out totally within 2 days after moisture and condensation appeared behind protective clear sealed covers. Left side went out while vehicle was in motion, right side was out when I arrived for service the next day. I was charged $1354. 47 by Cadillac to replace all components on each side, including new clear covers and seals. I checked online and this is a known issue. When I picked my vehicle up from Cadillac dealership, there were several Cadillacs lined up, all with moisture behind the clear lens covers. I could not drive my vehicle at night until this repair was completed.

Low beams are too dim. When I'm on roads that do not have reflective stripes I can't see the sides of the road. This is particularly dangerous when approaching oncoming traffic.
