When I was loading items into the rear of my car, the close button was accidently hit, the hatch came down and hit me in the head and my arm. It did not stop and reverse, I had to get out of the way. I tried it again, and when I put my arm out to stop the hatch to see if it would reverse, it put so much pressure on my arms that they became black and blue. I am concerned that what if this was a child, if it needs that much pressure to stop and reverse, what would happen to a child. I had the car looked at where I bought it and they said that, that is how much pressure is needed to stop. , I had a 2010 Srx, and it did not need that much pressure to stop. As soon as the hatch hit something, it stopped and reserved back up. I am wondering if anyone else has had this problem and can the hatch be adjusted.
I purchased my 2010 Srx (used) in oct 2011 from king Acura in birmingham, al. It had 23,000 miles on it at time of purchase. From the date of purchase I have had an issue with a rubbing noise when the wheels are turned to the left or right. The noise seems to be worse when the vehicle is cold. I have had the vehicle inspected at our local Cadillac dealership, and though they did hear the rubbing noise, the technicians were unable to determine a cause. In addition to being very annoying, especially after paying premium prices for a luxury vehicle, I am concerned there may be a structural problem that will result in accident and injury. I am taking the vehicle back to the dealership, but I fear it is a futile effort as the mechanics seem to have no idea what is causing this noise. Is this issue common, and if so, is it being researched and addressed by the engineers at Cadillac? someone please address this and provide a fix! if a fix has been determined, please provide instructions on the procedures for having this problem resolved as soon as possible.
I bought my Srx in may 2011 with 2300 miles on it. In October I noticed a squeaking coming from the front end when I made turns. I took it to the dealer and said I needed new strut mounts. While waiting for the parts to come in, on oct 25 I was driving just off the highway and lost engine power. I was only able to go 15mph while my rpms were running high. The dealer said I needed a new throttle control assembly. On oct 26 the car went in for both strut mounts and throttle assembly. They had my car 4 days. On oct 29 I got the car back but on Nov 2, the strut mount noise came back. The dealer informed me to bring the car back in. I brought it to the dealer today and I am waiting for them to call to tell me what the problem is now. I am very dissatisfied with the vehical and don't feel safe driving it as I drive between 4 states for my job and need a safe vehical. Cadillac/gm has been contacted several times by my boyfriend and myself about the issues and they have not been helpful or responsive at all. I would expect more considering it's such an expensive vehicle.
Car was parked in garage and the moonroof was openned earlier in the day with no issues. There were no cracks at all in the moonroof and no rocks had hit the vehicle. As the car was parked in our garage with our 1 year old daughter still in her car seat and my husband and I were at the front of the garage, the moonroof shattered and the glass got all over the interior of the car. Again, there were no signs of glass and or wear on the actual moonroof during the day. Cadillac's moonroof department stated that it may have been due to a temprature change. This is ridiculous since we live in new hampshire and the weather was a perfect 64 degrees and our garage was around 75. You assume that the glass in your car could withstand most situations. 2004 Cadillac Srx has a problem with one of the following, cv joint, torque converter, or the chain located in the transfer case. All of which cause the vehicle, when accelerated at a stop, on a hill, or traveling (at any speed) up a hill to make a loud popping or clicking noise. I have reviewed this and have a 6 page printout from one site on the same year and make of this vehicle problem with nothing being done, it is a hazard when turning onto a road and needing to accelerate to keep from getting rear ended, I feel for safety this vehicle needs to undergo an investigation and possibly a recall on this defect that the company has clearly overlooked.
On the 2011 Cadillac Srx there is no warning sounded if you leave your keyless ignition running and leave the vehicle. Yesterday, I inadvertently left the vehicle running and the car did not beep or give me any indication that I had done so. These keyless ignition systems are very dangerous because if you accidently leave the car running in the garage you could inadvertently cause a carbon monoxide poisoning situation. It is a very unsafe feature that could be corrected with a simple warning signal. There needs to be some type of warning, a car horn beep or something to let the driver know that the vehicle is running when the driver leaves the vehicle.
I did this in my last car (gm-yukon) so I re-enacted to see if it would happen in my new car (srx): I use my key fob to open only the hatch-back when walking up to locked car. I lay my purse (with key-fob and cell phone in it) in the back while unloading groceries, etc. , and then close the hatch. I am locked out of the car. The car doesn't chirp to let me know the key-fob is the car after closing as it does when I close the doors up front while unlocked. I think this is a safety complaint because I could be locked out at night in a parking lot without a phone or money for a pay phone to call for help. I also think that key-fobs should have a hole in the car to plug it into. Women tend to keep keys in purse, not on their body.
The key failed to be released from the ignition after turning off engine , the vehicle can be shifted from park to drive with out depressing brake pedal, with the car running or not , it did have the dealer do the recall service for the shifter. The problem occurred after service .
After two seasons of normal use the ultraview sunroof left bracket which opens and closes the roof has somehow become loose or has cracked and does not hold the left side of the roof down. When driving at speeds of 45 mph or more air can be heard coming into the car and the left side of the roof can be seen slightly lifting.
Srx 2004 has already had transmission rebuilt and I am trying to get throttle body also replaced after throttle did not respond and coasted backwards almost catching 3 teens running between my car and one behind me. Transmission was taken care of but hesitation on throttle has been continuous for over a year with no one telling me what was wrong. Just this week I was told throttle body needs replaced.
Air conditioner makes a loud noise and can be heard from a far distance. We have tried 3x to have repaired and no one will fix problem. The last service manager changed the blower and the car made more noise after changing this part. We have yet to drive car for a afull month due to being in shop on three occasions.
2005 Cadillac Srx ultra view glass roof exploded while driving 55 on highway route 9 south in CT. I was only car on road at the time, no other vehicle's in area, no bridges, and nothing in road. Weather was 75-80 degrees and overcast. I am certain nothing came into contact with the roof. It was closed, as was all the windows, when it just burst and exploded and glass showered down all into the cabin and on me.
Cadillac is unable to supply a center seat armrest restraint strap for the 2004 Cadillac Srx vehicles. This is a safety issue for infant/child car seats in the event of car accident the armrest can open and cause injury to the infant/child seated in the rear facing infant/child seat.
