Camera System Problems of Cadillac SRX

The contact owns a 2012 Cadillac Srx. While reversing at 3 mph in the rain, the contact noticed that the backup camera display failed and the tail lights flickered and blinked independently. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer or mechanic. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and stated that the VIN was not included in any recalls or campaigns. The approximate failure mileage was 50,000.

2016 Cadillac Srx. Consumer writes in regards to vehicle rear view camera issues. Consumer sent additional correspondence. The consumer stated at dusk, there was a lack of being able to see when using the back up camera. The consumer stated Cadillac chose a 360 degree fisheye lens with really low resolution. He stated it would never be as good as the straight rear view system, because it did not fill up the screen and the lenses apparently sacrificed clarity and brightness. Thee camera was foggy in the day and next to useless in the dark.
