Vehicle safety complaint – 2015 Cadillac Srx VIN: [xxx] mileage: 75,000 miles location: flint mi I am experiencing multiple issues with my 2015 Cadillac Srx that pose serious safety concerns. Evap solenoid and throttle failure: the evap solenoid and throttle are not functioning properly, leading to performance issues. Gas cap light comes on. The SUV struggles to accelerate, especially when attempting to merge or drive at highway speeds. Rear suspension not repaired:the rear suspension problem was not properly repaired by al serra Cadillac, despite previous service. This has resulted in unstable handling and potential safety risks while driving. Acceleration issues: at 75,000 miles, the vehicle is failing to accelerate properly, which is extremely dangerous when merging onto highways or making quick maneuvers. Safety concerns:the throttle and acceleration issues make it difficult to maintain safe driving speeds. The rear suspension problem impacts the vehicle’s stability and handling. These issues create a serious risk to both myself and other drivers on the road. Attempts to resolve: the rear suspension was previously serviced by al serra Cadillac, but the issue persists. The problem has not been adequately addressed by the dealership. I am requesting immediate attention to these concerns, as they directly impact vehicle safety. I would like Cadillac and the national highway traffic safety administration (NHTSA) to investigate these failures and determine if they are related to existing recalls or defects. On Monday, August 5, 2024 when I started the vehicle and began driving to work I noticed upon startup the engine was clearly noticeably louder. It also made a strange bogging downshift type noise when idling. Upon driving, the noise seemed to go in and out but once reaching approximately 40mph the noise got noticeably loud again and the vehicle seemed as though it was having gear shifting issues. I had the transmission fluid flushed and filled costing me $300. This seemed to help but very little. I did research to find recalls on the vehicle and found “special coverage 18029, reference # n172115200”, which is an inoperative purge solenoid. This is a defective part installed by manufacturer. I was unsure if this was the issue with the vehicle however doing research it was very possible. I contacted gm more than once and was stonewalled. All they said was to contact my local Cadillac dealership to have the issue diagnosed and repaired at my cost. They offered no resolution although it’s a defectively installed part by gm at the factory. Engine light came on for the first time Thursday, 01/09/‘25. I used the diagnostic computer tool from autozone and the printed results showed it was in fact the engine variable valve timing solenoid and crankshaft position - camshaft position correlation bank 1 sensor a “code p0016”. The vehicle has been dangerous to drive nearly stalling out or unable to shift smoothly nearly causing an accident several times, as well as loud and giving off dangerous noxious fumes. Gms refusal to fix the vehicle due to their negligence in factory installing a defective and faulty part, as well as the rear passenger side tire pressure sensor monitor (tpsm) shows the unconcern for their customers safety and satisfaction with their product and underscores that seemingly their only concern is their own monetary profits and refusal to amend and resolve dangerous mechanical issues caused by their own doing.

Lights became so dim it was impossible to see at night. I replaced the bulbs multiple times with no remedy. I also had the outer shell cleaned which still did not help. I had to finally have the whole assembly replaced.

The cue screen will not work to raise up the screen to view there is no backup camera to view because of screen not popping up and or no sensors warnings working causing animals and, people or objects not to be seen when backing up. Also back lift gate will no close to latch down and lock, causing liftgate to open while operating the vehicle on open road.

My lights have conditions and when it rains one of my lights do not come on until it is dry. I have replaced two bulbs since 2020. Now my steering wheel warning light came on, I had steering wheel fluid put in, and it's still hard to turn, and the warning light is still coming on with stabilitrak warning light.

The car makes a knocking noise from the engine and in order to drive, you have to hold in the traction control button. I was told that the connecting rod broke and has to be repaired & I believe that should be a recall with the engine.

The evaporator purge valve has went bad on my 2015 Cadillac Srx performance. I know this is a recall on alot of gm models.

On sept 26 2021 I was driving my car when I noticed it began jumpy and would hesitate at high speeds then when coming to a stop. After coming to a stop my car seemed it was stalling out while sitting at the stop light. Proceeded to go and my car didn't want to go into 1st-3rd gears. I just got this car 5 months ago it is very concerning when I need to make a sudden acceleration and cannot. I am highly concerned my car has a recall that never was issued to fix this dangerous problem.

Ran out of gas after putting gas in the car tried to start it and the ignition got stuck and continued to try to start on its own I had to pull the back to the off position I tried to start it again and it would not start and the lights on the dash and the radio control center did not come on. And car will not even try to start before this the car had been cutting off while driving down the road for no reason and it kept showing a check stability control warning and low tire pressure even though tires were not low at all.

I have several recalls that were not done to my vehicle. I moved around alot and when I asked the dealer, they said no. I found out that I paid for some of my recalls including the latest one with my headlights/ headlamps. They have been an issue for many years with water, moisture, the dealership said wear and tear , not so, faulty from all the complaints world-wide. I had purchased my vehicle straight up from the dealership in 2011. I have been the only driver and owner of my vehicle. Can you please help me recover all the recalls for my vehicle so my car can get fixed. Thanks again in advanced.

The car takes a unexpected hesitation during acceleration on road or highway at any given time which is very scary.

I was driving and the vehicle just cut off on me every thing locked up even the brakes I couldn't stop so I chunked the gear in park to avoid from smashing into anyone I was so afraid but it crank right up after but I noticed the temperature gauge and the gas gauge was no longer working. .

I asked the dealer if the vehicle we were contemplating buying had any accidents. Dealer showed me a carfax that did not reflect any accidents and stated as such. Upon going in to trade my vehicle this weekend I was made aware the vehicle has been in three accidents with structural damage and the vehicle is significantly less than paid. I specifically asked the dealer for the carfax. The structural damage accident happened less than 30 days before selling to me and had not been reflected on the carfax yet the dealer knew. I also paid over $500 for a fuel injector issue that was causing engine misfiring. On a long trip my check engine light starting flashing. I got it into a repair shop immediately.

Low octane fuel was used in the vehicle and it is now making a knocking sound from the engine, lagging on accelerating, and having issues starting.

Twice after running over bumps, immediately following the bump, the brakes need to be depressed all the way to the floor in order to engage the brake. Also, on occasion, car takes a few seconds to accelerate when pressing the accelerator.

Loss of acceleration power while driving have to pull over kill and crank again. Cars seems to be slowing down then having to stop and recrank. Does this while driving on hwy. This has happened several times before this date.

The bearings on two of the tires the emissions is giving me trouble I took it to a mechanic who changed everything car will not pass inspection.

I've taken my car several places & being told several fuel injectors are leaking into the combustion chamber. Numerous mechanics, among others, have told me this can start a fire at any time.

I purchased a 2013 Srx used in January of 2017 and on several occasions today being the latest, after coming to a complete stop at 4-way intersections, when I try to press the gas pedal and move into the intersection the car coasts without power and leaves me stranded for a few seconds. With the gas pedal pressed all the way to the floor the vehicle all of a sudden bolts forward causing the vehicle "peel out". Being stranded in the intersection is scary and I am afraid I will be hit. This is a safety concern, but it does not happen on a consistent basis for the dealership to locate the problem. I see on the internet several other concerns that sound very similar to this.

I drove the vehicle, parked, and I noticed the engine fan didnt turn off in a reasonable amount of time after parked (over 2 hours). I drove to the dealer only for them to refuse to run a simple diagnostic. Was driving and vehicle being accelerating even after I completely removed me feet; I also looked down witnessed the pedal modulating itself in and out, shortly followed by an abrupt braking incident. I was just able to restart and pull over to emergency stop. I hadnt gotten far from the dealer, so after two hours of waiting for a tow truck, I attempted to drive the truck back to the dealer only to have the same violent braking but this time also followed by a sporadic loss of power steering. I was able to creep the vehicle back to the dealer and control any losses of control, it felt like the vehicle was having a seizure. Please investigate my stall, unintended braking, power steering loss, and fan (I imagine this could be a fire issue as well). Thank you.

Reduce engine speed keep popping up and will not let you drive over 10miles per hr.

The contact owns a 2007 Cadillac Srx. While driving approximately 35 mph, the check engine warning light illuminated and the steering wheel started to shake. The contact mentioned that there was a clicking sound emitting from the rear of the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic for diagnostic testing. The technician stated that there was a leak in the front of the vehicle and the fuel injector and mass air sensor needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 110,000.

Approx 5 second lag in acceleration when departing parking space. Two occasions.

Driving down the road at 45 mph and engine dies. Complete lose of engine power, steering and braking. Has happened twice. Can only imagine what would happened if I had been driving on highway at 70 mph. Did manage to manhandle the car to the side of the road.

I purchased my 2013 Srx at the end of March 2013. On more than 4 occasions I have been at a stop. When I press the accelerator the car coasts slightly but does not go. I pull off the accelerator and push the accelerator again. After repeating this process, and several seconds later the vehicle will slowly move. I had it in the dealership in January and they could not find anything wrong. It has happened several times again including twice within the last week and I have scheduled another appointment for next week.

When entering the street from my driveway, the transmission failed to engage for four to five seconds. This has happened several times. When I took the vehicle in to galles & davis in albuquerque, they said the problem was due to an electronic acceleration system and that nothing culd be done.

After coming to a stop sign or traffic light, I will try to push my gas pedal and the Srx will move about 2 feet or so and then completely stop. This has happened 4 or 5 times and because the dealership cannot recreate the problem, they say there's nothing they can do. The Srx doesn't make any noise while pushing the pedal, it just acts as if the car is turned off. The only way to make it move again is if I change it into reverse or neutral and then back into drive. I've been almost killed at different intersections on several different occasions since I bought the car in July of 2013. The cue system is also having some issues such as the radio will completely stop working for several minutes at a time even though it shows that I'm pushing buttons to change the channel or volume. I owned a 2011 Srx before and never had this problem. I'm 8 months pregnant and afraid that I'll end up in a deadly vehicle crash. Please help!.

Since purchased new, this car has been involved in a number of recalls that have/have not been announced. The first incident occured 3 months after purchase--at slow speeds, the vehicle made a noise similar to that of worn brake pads/rotor at slow speeds. Upon my personal inspection, the blue lug nuts were less than hand tight on drivers front and passenger rear--the car was taken to dealership for first oil change and to inspect this defect--they stated that this vehicle was not part of the lug nut recall that was previously issued on other Srx models. I stated concern of the integrity of the wheel studs since they were likely stressed while driving with loose nuts, along with potential uneven tire wear, but the dealership did not agree. 6 months later, a recall was issued for door handles--the fix was removing and milling down parts and placing back on. 6 months later, the car would nearly stall out/have delayed response to acceleration after stopping at a stop sign--this could have cause serious injury if occured while pulling out into traffic (luckily never the case)-- thought this was due to wife letting gas level reach low level before refilling, but found out was electronic issue in the program (recalled and fixed). 2 months later the car does not shift well between rapid acceleration--recieved notification of another computer issue that controls the transmission. (although a card was sent in the mail notifying of this issue, this did not show up on the NHTSA website when searched). A true concern for the safety of my wife and 2 small children--additionally due to the nature of some of these issues, there is concern with the mechanical integrity of this vehcile in the future--stress on wheel studs, drawn out automatic shifting causing stress on the transmission. Although many of these items have been "fixed" these corrections do not take into account other damge.

The first incident was on 08/22/2013 I was at a stoplight about to turn right- I depressed the gas pedal and went forward slightly, but then the vehicle stopped and there was absolutely no acceleration. I had to jam the gas pedal to the floor and even then the vehicle only got up to 20 mph in approximately 100 yards. It took the vehicle approx. 3-5 seconds to respond at all. The vehicle had approx. 1150 miles on it. There were no warning lights that came on in the vehicle. The engine did not rev up or do anything. I was almost rear ended on this occasion. 08/24/2013 I was at a stop light and attempted to go forward and there was a lack of acceleration--I had to jam the gas pedal hard for it to move. It took approx. 3-5 seconds to respond. 09/25/2013 I was at a stop light and attempted to go forward and there was a lack of acceleration--I had to jam the gas pedal hard for it to move. It took approx. 3-5 seconds to respond. 10/17/2013 sitting at a stoplight and attempted to accelerate went forward a few feet and stopped I had to jam the gas pedal to the floor for it to move. It took 3-5 seconds to respond. Approx 2150 miles on car 11/08/2013 I was almost hit in the driver side door. I was crossing an intersection and the car went forward a few feet and stopped in the road. It took 3-5 seconds for the vehicle to respond. Approx 3400 miles on car 12/7/2013 my boyfriend was driving--we were at a stop sign turning out of my neighborhood and there was no power as he depressed the gas pedal 3/4 of the way. It kicked in finally after 3-5 seconds. Approx 4000 miles on the vehicle there have been other instances as well but this is a summary of some of the times this has occurred.

The vehicle suddenly accelerated while slowing the vehicle while still in drive and while pulling the vehicle into a curb parking. The acceleration could not be stopped using brakes and struck a parked car in front of the Cadillac.

Leaving work I started the vehicle and drove approximately 1/2 mile when the engine light came on and the vehicle started pulling and shaking. I pulled over and turned the vehicle off for a few minutes. I started the vehicle again and it continued to do this so I took it to the dealer and the dealer told me it was the exhaust system and would cost 2300 to fix.

From a complete stop, attempting to pull out into traffic, vehicle exhibits lag or hesitation when accelerating, even with accelerator pushed to the floor. This situation has the potential to become a safety issue in the event a driver is unable to accelerate adequately with oncoming traffic. Vehicle has the 3. 0l vvt dohc v6 sidi engine with a 6-speed automatic transmission, all wheel drive (awd). Thank you.
