4 Traction Control System problem of the 2009 Cadillac SRX

Failure Date: 08/01/2010

Have had my Srx into the dealer twice for the same reason that upon acceleration of vehicle looses power and hesitates due the stability traction system . It will hesitate and then kick in. This is very bad when trying to take off from a stop and into traffic and the car just looses the ability to accelerate. The engine is gong but your not and then it will finally kick in. The dealer replaced a sensor the last time but this time said that they had the code but was unable to duplicate it when driving it. So they reset it and erased the code but unsure if that will work. They claim that they have never heard of it but upon researching this on the internet have found several people have had the same issues happen to them too.

5 Traction Control System problem of the 2004 Cadillac SRX

Failure Date: 07/08/2010

Driving to norman oklahoma from flower mound TX. In 2004 Cadillac Srx. Stability system light comes on multiple times. About an hour into trip service stability system message comes on. Got out book said to get to dealer immediately. Call dealer and he said not to worry but after reading other customer complaints. I am afraid to drive and a couple of times, it felt like wheels were locking up and that I could have had a serious accident. Looks like NHTSA should look in to this problem and there should be a recall before someone is seriously injured or killed. The light has been going on periodically for the past month but just in town driving. I was very concerned yesterday as at times it felt that I didn't have control of what the vehicle was doing. I will be reporting to gm on Monday and taking my car to dealer but it sounds as though the dealership are unsure of problem and they should not be telling customers not to worry.

8 Traction Control System problem of the 2005 Cadillac SRX

Failure Date: 05/12/2010

Cadillac Srx stability system/traffic control engages unpredictably and appears to engage anti-lock brakes causing the SUV to seize up and fight against the accelerator. This has occurred 1/2 dozen times in very dangerous traffic areas and dealership does not know how to fix it (and are charging me for their troubleshooting labor).

9 Traction Control System problem of the 2004 Cadillac SRX

Failure Date: 04/10/2010

I own a 2004 Cadillac Srx awd v8, I have had many stability control issues, it has been into the dealer 5 times. They have replaced three wheel bearings and still the problem continues. The car will pull left sometimes, the abs will engage sometimes. The system doesn't store problem.

10 Traction Control System problem of the 2006 Cadillac SRX

Failure Date: 03/04/2010

When pressing the accelerator pedal on my 2006 Cadillac Srx the traction control engages and the radio displays traction control engaged. You never know when it is going to happen. It happens on take off from a red light, when turning, going over speed bumps and always at low speed. I have had the car to the dealership multiple times but they are not able to duplicate the problem. They say can only fix the problem if the can duplicate it. I have had 2 instances where is I was attempting to turn at an intersection and the traction control engaged for no reason and I almost was broadsided by another car. I longer feel safe driving this car. I concerned with the safety of me and my family.

11 Traction Control System problem of the 2006 Cadillac SRX

Failure Date: 01/10/2010

We own a 2006 Cadillac Srx awd that is having a problem with the traction control. Pretty regularly, when you are driving at a low rate of speed, the traction control will engage without warning. You can be turning in an intersection when it happens or just pulling out of a parking lot but when it happens, the radio alert will read "traction control engaged". You have to reach over and hit the clear button to get it to stop. When it happens, you lose power. If you are in an intersection, you have to be very careful & fast or you will get hit. It's very scary. We had a mechanic check the codes in the computer and it had these codes: c0046: left rear wheel speed circuit, c0228: left rear abs channel in release too long and a transmission code: p1793- wheel speed signal malfunction. Because of these codes, the mechanic couldn't tell what is going on. When he called the Cadillac dealership, he was told that we needed a rear driver hub assembly. Which has nothing to do with the traction control engaging. I found several complaints on this site about the same problem w/2006 & 2007 model Srx's. Then I searched online & their are hundreds of complaints about this issue. Some as early as Feb. 2006. This is a safety issue that could result in death if not repaired. The dealers should know what it is & should recall all of the affected vehicles to repair them because they were faulty from the start. I hope something is done before someone gets hurt. Please look into this. Just search online & you will find hundreds of complaints. That's just the people that have taken the time to complain. Thank you.

12 Traction Control System problem of the 2009 Cadillac SRX

Failure Date: 10/26/2009

On 2 separate occasions with 2 different drivers this rear wheel drive vehicle with "a" traction rated tires lost control and the back end spun around 90 degrees. This vehicle handled extremely poorly on wet roads and the manufacturer could find no defective systems. Traction control/stabilitrac was active and working. The consumer requested any affirmation related to the Cadillac Srx rear wheel drive and stability on wet pavement or poor road conditions. The consumer traded the vehicle in within 2 months of ownership. Updated 01/21/10.

13 Traction Control System problem of the 2005 Cadillac SRX

Tl-the contact owns a 2005 Cadillac Srx. The contact stated that the traction control engages when it shouldn't and it had caused her to loose control of the vehicle. The vehicle was inspected by a dealer and they advised her that the they would reprogram the vehicle. The vehicle was repaired for the reprogramming. 14 Traction Control System problem of the 2006 Cadillac SRX

Failure Date: 11/01/2006

When stopping, then starting up (with the engine running, like at a stop sign) the 2006 Cadillac Srx will often fail to move when the accelerator is pressed and the traction control indication lights up on the radio. This also happens sometimes when turning without stopping. It happens on level ground and when going up inclines. It makes a grinding sound (like when gears are raked in a manual transmission. ) by letting off the accelerator, then re-applying it, the car will move, but the hesitation is very dangerous. If the driver does not let off of the accelerator during one of these episodes, the car will very slowly begin to move and eventually accelerate normally. This happens on wet or dry pavement, with no reason for loss of traction. ¿turning off the traction control feature by pressing the button on the console does not always prevent this from happening. The problem does not happen all the time, but intermittently. I have had the car into the dealer for repair of the problem numerous times, but the dealer has never been able to diagnose or solve the defect. I put my safety and others at risk with every mile that I drive this car.
