2015 Cadillac Srx with 87,397 has a failed electronic brake control module (ebcm) or abs module. It can be made available for inspection upon request. Alexander Cadillac of oxnard refuses to repair it stating a replacement part is no longer available (it can be repaired by a specialty repair company). They cite liability by using after market or repaired parts. Without a functioning ebcm - abs, power steering and traction control do not work which puts me and others at risk. Worse, the failed ebcm is now causing the car to go into "limp mode", which cuts power to the engine and prevent acceleration. When making a turn onto a street, it suddenly went into limp mode and I was almost hit by an approaching semi-truck. The problem was identified by alexander of oxnard service center - but they refuse to make any effort to remedy the problem. There are multiple blogs on the internet citing similar systemic issues with the ebcm that is no longer manufactured but can be repaired by a specialty shop. Lights on the dash first started to appear in September 2024. Lights include abs, brake and traction control / stability light. New lights started to appear in June 2025 including check engine, headlamp and auto-parking symbols. Alexander Cadillac of oxnard cites that the ebcm is drawing too much current and causing issues to other systems on the car - a cascading effect. I am very afraid to drive the car and fear that it will lose power when needed, stall or the brakes will lock up.

I am reporting ed morse Cadillac delray beach, for improperly handling a manufacturer recall service, which resulted in a new safety issue on my 2013 Cadillac Srx. On February 22nd 2025 I brought my vehicle in for the Cadillac rear tow link separation recall. After the dealership performed the repair, my abs system malfunctioned—an issue that never existed before. The dealership initially acknowledged the issue but later dismissed it and refused to acknowledge the issue. Worse, they encouraged me to leave and drive the vehicle despite the abs warning light being on, showing no concern for my safety. This is a serious safety concern, as my braking system was directly affected following a manufacturer recall service. I am requesting that NHTSA investigate this dealership’s recall handling process and reconsider their status as an authorized recall service provider to protect future customers from similar issues.

My transmission is sleepin and it only goes to second gear for like 20 min then it won’t move at all.
Rear toe link and . Lag in acceleration was completed on 05/08/2014 but the problem persists also electrical failure seat gets stuck or engine wont turn on , blind spots makes sound when no vehicle around engine has no power tcm transmission control module code comes and goes.
Today is Saturday, November 11, 2023. While driving my check, engine light came on, and I was given a message on the dash that engine power was reduced. I was only able to drive the car 30 to 45 miles an hour to get home. I have not taken the car to the mechanic yet, but will do so when they open on Monday. I was in a heavily congested area with many cars passing me at great speeds. I connected a code reader to my automobile, and came up with the code p2138. After doing research, it is my understanding that general motors knows of this problem and has not addressed it at this time. For that reason, I feel I should be reimbursed for mechanic parts and services to repair this problem.

The car makes a knocking noise from the engine and in order to drive, you have to hold in the traction control button. I was told that the connecting rod broke and has to be repaired & I believe that should be a recall with the engine.

On sept 26 2021 I was driving my car when I noticed it began jumpy and would hesitate at high speeds then when coming to a stop. After coming to a stop my car seemed it was stalling out while sitting at the stop light. Proceeded to go and my car didn't want to go into 1st-3rd gears. I just got this car 5 months ago it is very concerning when I need to make a sudden acceleration and cannot. I am highly concerned my car has a recall that never was issued to fix this dangerous problem.

Gm safety recall n212340980. Nine (9) warnings are specifically listed within the recall letter; I have been experiencing 6 of 9 warning messages during an active driving session of this vehicle. In August 2021, visited cole GMC / Cadillac service location for an assessment of parts needed to repair safety items. Refused service request despite previously scheduled appt. Time; dealer required $100 fee to perform safety analysis despite safety recall letter / case. (08/27/2021) contacted gm safety hotline to determine next steps. Spoke with gm rep who indicated a solution would be communicated with 24-48 business hours. No response prior to 09/02/2021 - attempted follow-up call @ 3pm, :28 hold, gm call center rep could not reach anyone in recall department.
Back in February of 2020 I was driving the car and it started jerking around really bad when I would either upshift or downshift in 1-2 gear. Took it to Cadillac and they couldn't find anything. We took it to a couple of other mechanics and a lot of money later no one could find anything. One day driving home from work the car started jerking so bad that I almost crashed. Come to find out the transmission died. We replaced the transmission and a couple of months later having problems again. When I drive and get to about 40 miles per hour the entire car shafts to shake and jerk around and this happened when I had my kids in the car. Gm is doing nothing to help us. At this point we don't know what to do and and can't afford to keep randomly replacing parts on a car that is just not safe to drive at this point. I am truly afraid for my family's safety.
The car takes a unexpected hesitation during acceleration on road or highway at any given time which is very scary.
My Cadillac will go into drive and reverse but when I'm driving down the road it won't shift the rpms stay real high it wont shift rather should I say in my Cadillac.
My stabilizer track/abs light came on but before it did my car was driving about 20 miles even though I had my foot down on the gas. Then it jumps into moving fast. The light goes on and off, so when it's off the car won't move it drags then it jumps but when the stabilizer track/abs light comes back on it doesn't do this. I checked recalls and it says my vehicle doesn't have any but who knows if this has been fixed improperly before. I was driving and cars were beeping then when it jumped I almost hit a car in front of me.
Please investigate! approx. 3 days ago I was coming to a stop sign in a residential area & applied brakes. Speed limit is 25, but I was going slower, just to the corner past my home. Not only did brakes not work- the car began to accelerate on its own to about 35-40 mph- no gas applied. Tried pumping brakes, shifting the car into neutral, reverse, park- all while at an unexpected accelerated speed. I plowed into a residential yard which had a small hill thinking maybe I could stop the car that way. That didn't work. I swerved back into the street; car still revving and moving forward. At that point I thought I was going to crash into a house, pole or another vehicle. I ended up halfway on the street and halfway on a curb after continuously trying the brakes and shifting from drive to park (vehicle still accelerating as if it was possessed!!) and just before hitting a light pole, with driver side door open thinking I'd rather jump out of a moving vehicle than die from ramming into a pole, house or car- I thought to turn physically turn off the ignition while the vehicle was in drive. This is the only was the car would stop moving. This was a very disturbing and dangerous experience. I have no doubt this is not a normal issue and should be recalled and fixed by the manufacturer- whatever it is. My mechanic still has not determined what the issue is. We know it isn't as simple as just fixing the brakes. I and/or other people could have been killed in the process and even worse, my two small children could have been in the car which thankfully they were not. This was such a traumatic experience that I no longer feel safe driving the car for fear it could happen again with my children inside. If I have the car repaired, I don't even know that I feel comfortable selling it to anyone else- it's that dangerous! please investigate. This problem is deadly. 2004 Cadillac Srx 4dr.

My car was sitting in the driveway when I started to drive off the car jerked a little then I applied the break. Still in the driveway,I tried to continue on but noticed the car wouldnt move. Ahad it placed on a code reader,p2122,accelerator position sensor curcuit d low . Replaced pedal, still the same thing.
Stability control light and reduced engine power happened at a stop light. Vehicle was in stop and go traffic approaching traffic light on highway exit ramp. Car throttle body issues already noted for other Cadillac Srx models of same year but gm said our VIN was not covered. It is the same exact problem listed in the gm serice bullitin # 14582a from October 2015.
Takata recall about 2 weeks ago, I notice while driving that I'm loosing the acceleration. The front gausr of rpm is not consistent. We can feel the engine is having trouble going forwrd evry time I punch in the gas pedal. My passanger and I can feel the acceleration bit chocking. So, I brought it some mechanics & they says possible time chain problem. They diagnose the car and here some of the code came out. P0011, p0014, p0016, p0018, p0021. At first, they thought of changing the camshaft sensors and crankshaft sensors maybe it would resolve the problem but it didn't. They suggest to call the Cadillac dealer possible for recalls. I drive my car daily to work, from merced to lathrop, that's about 120 miles back and fort. I used to drive my car from merced to frement from the past 4years everyday but I got tranfer to lathrop about 2 years now.
Accelerating is stalled. Engine is goes into a pull and tug mode in engine. Cant get in rpm speed in pedal. Engine is heavy. Brake pedal becomes stiffens and slight brake makes Srx stop suddenly. All this is happening while on highway and city driving in with the vehicle in motion . Also I've taking the Srx in for diagnostics several times. And no code are found to report on the vehicle.
A warning light on the cue system has locked and will not work. This is a safety hazard while driving. The vehicle was moving.
The sun roof drain tubes came away from the firewall on all 4 sides. Water leaked all over the gas pedal and the break. I have slid off the street trying to break causing damage to a yard. The electrical on the radio system and lights short out because of water getting into the dash. The back hatch has water leaking directly into the circuit board that controls it and not will not allow the hatch to open.
This winter it was freezing, my 2011 Srx Cadillac displayed a "reduced engine power" message, and I couldn't go over about 5 miles per hour. I had to pull over and stop the car. After a short time, I restarted the engine and had power back. I took the car to the Cadillac dealership with the check engine light on. They said it was my throttle body sensor. The cost came to $603. I was the second car out of four within a one week time frame that had to get this problem fixed. Cadillac did a recall for this same problem on its other vehicles but not the Srx.
On highway going 75mph suddenly reduced power mode & service stabillitrak messages. Car immediately downshifted to 45mph which could've caused a major accident. TSB 14582a throttle body reduced power mode which states this special coverage covers the condition described above for a period of 10 years or 120,000 miles (193,000 km), whichever occurs first, from the date the vehicle was originally placed in service, regardless of ownership exists, yet my dealer will not honor the extension on the warranty because my VIN is not part of the TSB.
When I bought the car in November of 2016 and drove it off the lot I've had nothing but problems. Two vehicles have almost hit me due to the lag in accerlation. I've spoken with my dealership several of times about this issue and they do not resolve the problem. There has been a recall on my SUV and I was told it was fixed but I can't find any supporting documents stating it was fixed properly. I currently go through 13 miles per gallon which is not normal.
Tl the contact owns a 2012 Cadillac Srx. The contact stated that the vehicle failed to respond when the brake pedal was depressed and hesitated to accelerate. The contact had to cautiously apply the brake pedal. The vehicle was not included in NHTSA campaign numbers: 14v212000 (power train) and 13v097000 (power train, electrical system), although the contact's failures were similar. The vehicle was not diagnosed by a dealer. The manufacturer was notified and confirmed that the vehicle was excluded from the two recall campaigns. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was not available.
Acceleration takes a few seconds to catch up. This problem was suppossed to have been resolved. However, I continue to have problems with acceleration lagging.
Even the slightest bump in the road sends the vehicle swerving. The whole car rattles. When trying to accelerate it hesitates before going, same with decelerating. Even when in residential areas and flat surfaces.
2012 Cadillac Srx hid headlights have seemed to burn out with no firther issues. On high beam the lights are fine but on regular beam at night I cannot see ahead of me recently and it is a major safety issue and Cadillac somesnt seem to believe this is a defect issue but something that happens. However it is my understanding after speaking with other certified mechanics that hid's do not just burn out so there has to be other issues that may need to be addressed by the maker. Also at interims after I try to accelerate, the vehicle will stall which causes me to have to remove my foot from the gas and try again. After bringing this to the dealers attention I was told it was because of the computer trying to keep up and this is what may create this issue which is definitely potentially life threatening and definitely needs to be addressed.
I have been having problems with my headlights for about 3 years. My headlights are so dim I have replaced the low beam bulbs 4times. It's cost me 100. 00 every time. I took it to the dealership more than once and they said it needs new headlights, the whole assembly. I can't afford it. It's because of moisture inside the headlight glass. Well after complaining for 3 years I finally got a letter in the mail saying it's not a recall but due to moisture inside the headlights they need to be replaced and they will reimburse me up to 800. 00 for getting them fixed. And it's for 2010-2015 Cadillac Srx. I'm on disability and I can't afford to pay for them and worry about getting my money back. I can't go anywhere at night because I only have bright lights and I've had a fender bender 1time and almost had several wrecks because the other car couldn't see me. I'm in danger every time I have to go somewhere at night. Why is it not a recall?and how can I get them fixed. ? I can't get anybody to help me. They wouldn't fix them even when it was under warranty . I need help very bad.
The contact owns a 2011 Cadillac Srx. While driving 50 mph, the vehicle inadvertently decelerated to 20 mph. The vehicle stability engine and engine power reduce warning indicators illuminated. The issue recurred several times while the contact was driving the vehicle to the dealer. The contact stated that the vehicle needed to be turned on and off to correct the issue. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where the issue could not be duplicated. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the issue. The failure mileage was 78,892.
