The contact owns a 2004 Cadillac Sts. The contact stated that he heard a loud sound on the rear passenger side. The vehicle was taken to a local repair shop who diagnosed that the shock absorber was defective and needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure who did not offer any assistance since the vehicle was not included in any recalls. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure and current mileage was 83,500.
