When driving in rain the smallest amount of water will cause the reduced engine power to engage and it does not go off until the vehicle has sat for a long amount of time. Extremely dangerous. First the abs light comes on and then you lose power. 3rd row led taillight out. . . 400 to fix. Purchased in March of 2018 with 93k miles. Currently at 104k.

We own a 2011 Cadillac Sts. Recently my wife was leaving for work and all of a sudden I felt the house shake. My wife was reversing out of the driveway when she applied the brakes. The pedal was so hard she could not press the pedal down. To avoid a crash she put the car into drive to keep it from going into the street. Once she was able to keep the vehicle out of the street she put the car in neutral, but the brakes were still not responding. Thats when our home became our car stopper. I drove the car afterwards and the brake pedal was still hard and would not hold the car from moving when it was put into gear. I contacted the local dealership who informed me that it would take at least 3 to 4 hours labor to diagnose the problem. That at $149. 99 per hour. He also informed me that they had a vehicle in earlier saying the same thing and they pretty much replaced all of the braking system on the car at the cost of over $3900. 00. That is crazy to me so I went through the car myself. I replaced all brakes and rotors, replaced the brake fluid and bleed the whole brake system. All that for the next day the same thing happened. I have since traced the electrical side and have found that the vacuum brake assist fuse under the hood was blown. I have replaced the fuse but as soon as you hit the brake it blows the fuse again.

Just bought the vehicle used and I hear a noise coming from the rear back of the car. The key fob wasn't working correctly and drained the battery and I had to buy a new battery. I really don't know what wrong with the vehicle but its driveable for now besides the slight banging noise. It need to be checked for recalls.

Passenger side headlamp failed after condensation build up in the headlight assembly. I have the hid headlamps and changed the bulbs checked all the fuses and relays but it still will not work consistently. I took it to the dealer and was told the assembly needed to be changed and it was not covered as because the car is out of warranty at 53000 miles. The cost is $1695 they said the light failed because the seal is bad and this allowed condensation to build up. I checked around and noticed that this is an ongoing problem for Cadillac srx 2010 model year and new owners. Since the problem is so wide spread it seems more like an engineering defect that should be covered either by a recall or an extension in the warranty. Seems unfair to make the consumer have to pay for this.

My car has been diagnosed as having 'extended crank'. My local chevy dealer made approximately fifteen attempts at fixing it to no avail. I'm told it's the check valve, but I have not had that done because all attempts by the dealer didn't work; e. G. , new computer (and removed), battery (and removed), fuel pump, etc. Very frustrating and I feel it's a matter of health and safety because the car almost never starts on the first attempt, and sounds like it's a dead battery.

While driving down the street in my Cadillac Sts a (service electric system) warning flashed on my dash. A few moments later everything electric in my car started to shut down. The radio, power steering, lights, and finally the engine. I cruised to the side of the road and put the car in neutral and engaged the emergency brakes.

This problem started over a year ago and I have had it to the dealer twice and they can no find the problem because there are no codes in the car. While driving the car it shuts down and you lose everthing lights, turn singles, hazards,the dash goes totaly out and the engine stops the best you can do it to pull it over to the side of the road and hope you don't get hit. I have had this happen it town driving and on the highway so it has nothing to do with speed. I have loaned my car to other people and it has happened to them so it is not the driver. I will happen and you pull over put the car in park and it starts right up and you can continue driving and it may happen a mile up the road or it may not happen for a week or a month later and still no codes.

I am a mechanic and have worked on numerous vehicles recently that are model 2006 Cadillac Sts. Safer car. Gov needs to make engineers aware that this car is a death trap. Gm should have this vehicle added to the ignition recall list. It makes no sense to me a a mechanic that gm has models cts and dts but not the Sts on the recall list, especially since they are all the same car. It's not like the cars have a different ignition , they all come ofd the same assembly line and stamped a different model name for various pricing points and target markets. Please don't ignore my message as this is a very vital topic.

I was stopped at a red light and was rear ended by a car going 40. The car started on fire in the rear of the vehicle and burned pretty bad. I have to get a new car due to the significant damage resulting from the fire, I'm just happy my kids weren't with me at the time. I have herniated and bulging discs in my cervical and lumbar, which were found by mri. Not sure what happened with this car but thought it important to let the general public know about it.

Upon reaching her destination my wife reached up to push the stop engine toggle switch and the entire assembly collapsed into the inside of the dash panel. Since the engine was still running she was able to get the vehicle to an independent repair facility nearby. They were able to remove the dash panel and found that the housing box for the switch had broken away from it's dash mount and fell into the dash. They were able to epoxy it back together and further secured it with a zip tie as a temporary fix.

The contact stated they coasted the vehicle to side of the road safely. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, where it was diagnosed that the intake and exhaust manifold needed to be repaired. My 2005 Cadillac Sts brakes locked up and caused my car to crash. After research I am showing that there was a recall regarding the brake system. In addition, when changing gears you can hear the gears changing from the outside of the car. I researched this as well and apparently there is a defect and recall on the axle. I am not happy about this vehicle that I just purchased for alittle over 7 months. There is also an electrical problem. As I am driving, the hood ajar light comes on and there is no sign of my hood beign ajar. In addition, the transmission seems as thought it is going out as well. Before I consult with an attorney I wanted to first give GMC an opportunity to resolve this issues. My vehicle has less than 100,000 miles. Also, please note that due to the electrical problem, my reverse lights has never worked. The unknown other would be the axle and transmission.

Traveling 81 north in northeast pennsylvania, rounding turn car stalled. I lost complete control of the vehicle which caused me to slam into a guard rail and the car went down an embankment and into a boulder. Air bags never deployed. Passenger and I were severely injured and had to be pulled out of the vehicle. Although we were both buckled in, the seatbelts flew off upon impact. This car should be recalled, it is very dangerous and should not be on the road (its a death trap).

4/14 - car was shutting off intermittently, pulled over in hotel parking lot and a gentlemen came up to car to tell me that it was smoking, got out and there was a fire at the rear of the car. Ran into hotel and got fire extinguisher to put it out, had towed to repair shop. There determined that the terminal on the top of the fuel pump over heated and melted a hole in the top of the pump, causing fuel to leak out and catch fire -$6000 worth of damage, only used parts available to fix car. 8/14 recall was released about fuel module and harness. 6/15 - called dealer about unrelated issue (door lock), VIN# was ran and was told parts were available to fix recall. I mentioned I did not receive the letter that parts were available and was told dealer had to order them, 4 days later parts came in and work was scheduled. Car was there for 10 days "having trouble getting parts". When car was picked up the fuel gauge was now off only reading 3/4 when full and check engine light on. Told harness is not available to finish recall and it will take care of both problems. This safety recall is beyond a reasonable amount of time for repair. The dealer should not have torn into car if all parts were not available. Car is due for inspection 9/15 and as it currently stands it will not pass inspection due to the check engine light being on and now the gas gauge does not read at all. This has been a huge inconvenience and am very displeased with the lack of support from Cadillac and the dealership. I now have a vehicle that I can not get parts to fix recall, will not pass inspection, and I can not sell it or trade it in.

On many occasions, my 2007 cadilac Sts experienced the exact same ignition problem as other more popular models of the 2007 cadilac. This problem causes the engine to suddenly quit while driving causing serious danger to being hit by the car behind me. It does not matter whether you are driving at 20 mph or 65 mph. It randomly causes the engine to die. An ignition recall has been issued on many (or all) models of the 2007 cadilac except this Sts model. The dealer, thompson cadilac, confirmed that it is the ignition problem. However, gm refuses to pay for repair. Can you assist me?.

After leaving restaurant got into car and adjusted driver seat, proceeded to exit,approached stop light, then heard faint popping sound then smelled odor and saw smoke. Immediately pulled into adjacent restaurant across street,exited vehicle and car was on fire. An employee at restaurant advised to move away from car fearing an explosion. Immediately called 911 and was dispatched to local fire dept.

I was driving along a city roadway when the vehicle's stability, traction control, and engine light came on simultaneously when all of a sudden the vehicle just stopped, almost causing the car behind me to collide with my vehicle. I called the dealer, lawley's gm store in sierra vista, az. Where I had just purchased the vehicle and told the service manager what happened. . . He sent a tow truck to pickup the vehicle and after inspecting the vehicle at the dealership told me it was the throttle body needing replacement. . . I bought a new one and had it installed. Ran fine for a couple of weeks after which the vehicle began stalling while driving on a city road when the same thing happened again, but this time when the vehicle stopped without any warning causing the vehicles behind me had to swerve around me almost causing accidents with oncoming vehicles. Called the dealer again, had the vehicle towed in and this time was told that the vehicles computer was not programmed right and that it also needed throttle body harness. . . Bought the harness and had it installed as well as the dealer reprogramming the computer. Car did well for a few months when it happened again (vehicle stopping unexpectedly), this time approaching a major crosswalk and once again causing the vehicles behind me to come a abrupt stops, fortunately a city police vehicle was on the opposite side of the crosswalk and the officer witnessed what happened, put his vehicle's emergency lights on and came over to help me push out from the street to a walgreen's parking lot where I once again called the dealer, had it towed to dealer where they told me the throttle body pin connectors had to be soldered on which they did. Car is running ok for now, but I am concerned that I may be driving and the vehicle will once again stop unexpectedly and cause an accident. There are consumer posts on this problem on the web.

Vehicle was idling in driveway during strong electrical storm. Lightning appeared to hit a tree nearby. Simultaneously, several dash warning lights came on and stayed on, including anti-lock brake, traction and stability control warnings. Call was made to insurance company and vehicle towed to Cadillac dealership. Service department said cause of the warning light was a bolt near wire to anti-lock brake power control module had worn insulation off, causing failure of power control module. If indeed lightning/power surge did not cause this problem, improperly located bolt or design would seem to be defective.

Car shuts off without warning going down the freeway at 70 mph. Must get out of harms way come to complete stop put in park and restart. When car shuts down loss of power steering, power brakes, radio, gauges and lights. This has happened seven times. Gm Cadillac customer support is working on it case no [xxx]employee [xxx] phone 1-866-790-5700 ext [xxx] however tec in detroit wanted to use a brand new switch replacement they overnighted to van Cadillac in kansas city however[xxx] nor I can find out if they used it or a reconditioned one from stock as repairs were completed before shipment arrived. Service manager [xxx]phone 816-454-6666 will not return calls and I am afraid to have my wife drive it again unless it has been repaired according to the gm tech team in detroit. At approximately 72,000 miles my Cadillac's passenger seat light began to act up and would go on and off when someone would sit in the front passenger seat. I am single and rarely ever have a passenger in the front seat. Approximately two times per month someone rides in this seat. The last time someone sat in the front passenger seat, I traveled 10 miles round trip on 1/19/2012, the "service air bag" and air bag red light indicator came on the dash and since then will not go off. I take extraordinary care of my vehicle. I took it to a dealer only to be told that the entire passenger presence system (pps) needs to be replaced and that it was going to cost me $629. 00. I understand that the same problem occurred in the Cadillac cts model of the same year. My question and complaint are: did the modules come from the same place and/or are they the same module and passenger presence system. Why wouldn't my Cadillac Sts be included in that recall when I see that this has happened to so many other Cadillac Sts models of the same year.

At various speeds and intermittent times would put on check engine light and traction control light. Car cant accelerate. Have to pull over and restart. Biggest mistake was buying an american car.
