My Cadillac Sts left front light seal leaks water into it and now the headlight won't come on. This was notice upon purchasing the vehicle and was told it was a manufactures problem. Now my head lamp only works on brights.
The headlights have a major fogging issue which leads to impaired visibility both for the driver of the car and for other drivers on the road. This issue is being reported in Sts and cts Cadillac forums at least as far back as 2008. I believe this is a defect in either the design or manufacturing of these components.
Dash lights fail to come up upon start - supporatic in March 2013, chronic in November to present back up sensors malfunctioning - January 2014 to present power windows go up and down - sporatic Jan 2014 cd/radio volume exceptionally high and then re-adjusts itself headlights turn off when they should be on - 2 occurences - February 2014 2 emmission warning from onstar denied by dealer - Jan - 03/2014 alarm coming through rear-view mirror assembly - very, very loud and persistent - February 2014 I reported several occurrences in 2013. Dealership said they could not duplicate reported chronic occurrences again in November, December and January and February - told could not diagnose complained to corporate who offered to have car diagnosed for 99. 00; then chargeds assigned were 99. 00 per symptom - great way to deter a customer told by corporate this past week that they did not say that and that the car was unfixable. Also told I was out of warranty and any charges were now on me. Can't fix something no one can/will acknowledge exists if consumer doesn't have the money to pursue the matter. Refusal to offer any other support from corporate. I have sent in 3 letters to corporate.

2007 Cadillac Sts. Consumer writes in regards to defective composite headlamps. The consumer stated the headlamp assembly would fog up. There was two inches of water built up in the assembly due to condensation.
#1 the above mentioned vehicle was purchased in chicago on December 22, 2009. The odometer read 29,832 miles. When the car was driven back to maryland, a maryland vehicle inspection was required. The headlights failed the inspection. #2 over the past two years, condensation built up inside both the headlights. In the past month, I noticed there was one inch of water in the driver side headlight. The water has now shorted out the light. I believe this problem is a defect and I have read similar complaints on car forums on the internet. Cadillac will not cover the cost of the repair because the car now has 63,000 miles. I am on a fixed income and cannot afford the cost of the repair which Cadillac quoted @ $1250. 00.
Front car seats are making a farting noise, I have had in the dealership 3 times & each time they said they fixed the problem they have not. Also, my front headlamp has stress cracks in it they told me they ordered it, well its been 8 weeks & still no headlamp the manager was suppose to call me & never has.

High beam headlights out of adjustment left side way high and to the left lights up trees not road. Right side way to high. Per Cadillac and dealer no adjustment is possible. Only adjustment is on low beams, none for high beams. Complaints to Cadillac went no place. After many e-mails finally talked to a real person and was offered $200. 00 of service work to go away, I turned it down, per Cadillac they would now close my compliant out. I drive on county roads, two lane farm county and the high beams do not light up the road ahead of my car, only tree tops to the left. Per calif law all headlights must be adjusted properly, if no adjustments is on the high beams it is against calif state law but Cadillac will not do anything to correct this.
: the contact stated the driver side headlight was inoperable. The dealer tried to replace the ballast, but the wiring harness on the vehicle would not fit. No parts were available through the manufacturer or dealer to remedy the problem. The manufacturer is planning to manufacture a special part of their own design in order to remedy the problem. Updated 4/06/2006 -.

Both headlights had blind paths, almost opaque, resulting in extremely reduced visibility during night driving. Thus, obstructing consumer's view while driving. Service manager at the dealership indicated that vehicle was operating as designed by the manufacturer. Called NHTSA and filed a complaint with them.
