Just bought the vehicle used and I hear a noise coming from the rear back of the car. The key fob wasn't working correctly and drained the battery and I had to buy a new battery. I really don't know what wrong with the vehicle but its driveable for now besides the slight banging noise. It need to be checked for recalls.

Purchased 2006 Cadillac Sts built on June 21 2005 last day of 2005 model. Car has had all the issues that 22005 vehicle had. June 23rd 2005 was first day of production. At every corner VIN # are noted however for this model the build days which noted by Cadillac are the important factors. I don't think coincidence that I've been companling to Cadillacand asking for help with zero help. Catalytic converter was extended warrantee for 200000 and 12 years however Cadillac always says VIN even though dates are the only thing noted. I have called and e,ail for 3 years. My car is off road and they have refused to look and even if I paid they wouldn't guarantee they would even look at the issues. My car is in absolute limbo neither a 2006 or 05 or whatever. They have refused every step even though it was based on recalls.

El carro se bloquea tanto en direccion como en velocidades. Pareciera ser que pierde brake fluid and gasoline.
Hello, I purchased a 2006 Sts v8 last January. Since then I have had to replace all four tires immediately, a starter, and the brakes and then replace front brake pads again. I recently went to auto shop and was told catalytic converter and suspension need to be replaced. after investigation I realized there was recalls on the 2005 Sts v8 model for the brakes, suspension and the catalytic converter has an extended warranty of 12 years and 200000 miles. the fact is that further investigation showed my car was built in 2005 and the actual manufacture date on vehical was 6/20/2005 which was last date of production for the 05 model. the 2006 manufacture or build date began on 6/23/05. it seems odd all the recalls for the 05 model are all the year old vehicle are faced with. I called Cadillac and they said although the build date of vehicle is valid the VIN number is what is followed. however, further research shows they actually found the same recall on the 05 catalytic converter on a 2007 Cadillac. everything points to the fact that the my 2006 model was actually either a late model of a 2005 by the build date of 6/20/05 and or the same parts have been used as the 2005 recall. lastly the VIN number when I pulled up on a site showed it was actually a cts model. I have spent a lot of time and have a great deal of data I could share that would back that my 2006 Sts v8 actually is part of the recall cars. I understand the VIN number is what is looked at but when model year cars are being made and sold as different years than when they are produced and recalls effect the year of actual build this becomes very concerning. as in the past year I will be spending over 3000$ plus dollars to fix this car. I. Hope you can look into. as they wont even investigate or give me the serial numbers for the parts being recalled.
Tl- the contact owns a 2006 caddalac Sts. The contact stated the vehicle's check engine light was constantly illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the engine had 8 misfires and the icm needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired however the failure recurred. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 96,000. Kh.
In cold weather car will not take off from the start and the motor bogs down and will not move in traffic for a couple of minutes creating a hazard to driver and on coming traffic abs light comes on, stability light comes on if you restart the car all the errors go away but still stored on computer memory.
The above vehicle was recently in a shop for brake pad replacement when my mechanic discovered that there was a leak of lubricant in the rear end of the automobile. Upon further inspection he discovered that the rear axle pinion seal was leaking. The automobile has just 60,000 miles. After checking the NHTSA he found that a recall, gm recall number 07204 had been issued for this very problem. However, when I presented the vehicle for repair this morning at marion Chevrolet Cadillac they refused to cover the problem under the recall stating the VIN does not meet the recall range. I find it untenable that gm could recall nearly 300,000 vehicles for this very issue but refuse to cover an identical problem in a vehicle that does not meet the VIN range set by gm.
Car starts to shakes in frontend of car at 50 to 70 mph. System stability notification comes on. Have had it checked and mechanics can not find anything wrong. New tires and calibration does not help.

I lease a 2006 Cadillac Sts with 35,000 miles driven. For the past 6,000 miles, an increasing thumping noise has been emanating from the front wheels. I brought it to the Cadillac dealer I got it from (country Cadillac GMC Buick, huntington, NY) and their brief synopsis indicated that the tires were worn out, because there are flat spots on them causing the thumping. The problem is, Cadillac explicitly warranty?s the tires from defects for full replacement during the bumper to bumper coverage of 5 year/50,000 miles. I contacted michelin to discuss warranty coverage and they instructed me to bring the car into a service center to analyze for warranty. Their analysis indicates that any wear of this type is mechanical in nature, and it is a root cause within the front end of the car. I contacted Cadillac customer service specifically (and adamantly) requested that a regional representative from Cadillac come to the dealership to review the car with me & the dealers service manager. After fully disclosing all the information about the tread life (which michelin clearly claims that there is a minimum of 3/32" active life left before the low level indicator bands are breached) and that the "flat spots" are not normal tread wear, and that I require a meeting to review the situation. I received a call back from the customer service representative informing me that this is also not a warranty issue. This is the problem. I know that my car has an inherent problem. This wear irregularity is currently a serious safety issue, and I need new tires before an incident happens. My contention is this; Cadillac is ignoring the underlying problem, blaming it on "worn out" tires, when in fact there is a major problem. I will replace these tires, but the point is Cadillac really should, and also should actively be reviewing the car front end for defects; one which deteriorates critical safety components on my car.
1. Balance tires eight times, alignment of front end two times, rotate tires four times. Heavy steering wheel vibrations between 60 mph and 75 mph. No resolution of problem after spending all this money. One set of new tires too. 2. Contact Cadillac div. Of g. M. No resolution. 3. All data. Com list manf. Tech. Service bulletin #00-03-10-007f as possible source of problem. 4. Vibrations getting worse, can you research, reply, and help help!
5. Failure of steering equipment could lead to major injuries or deaths.
