One problem related to engine cooling system has been reported for the 1996 Chevrolet 1500. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
The front axle seal keeps leaking. It was replaced six times. Manufacturer was contacted, and no assistance offered. Engine had coolant running out of it. Dealer found water pump leaking. Replaced water pump, serpentine belt and belt tensioner. Fuel pump and power steering unit was also replaced.
