Two problems related to fuel injection have been reported for the 1997 Chevrolet 1500. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Main engine harness shorted out on ignition coil vehicle stalled inj stock open then melted and allowd gasoline to enter shorted wiring harness while under 50psi and enter engine controller p. C. M.
Truck has had continual problems with major components other than wear and tear. It is not used for normal driving conditions. No safety defect listed.
