One problem related to power train has been reported for the 1999 Chevrolet 1500. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Was in traffic went to back up and heard a pop. It was the transmission sun shell gear failing. (aamco transmission said so). I was on a hill so when failed it rolled forward. Stopped it just in time to just bump car in front of me. Wasn't any visible damage so didn't file. However I've done research and this is a common defect on these trucks. It should be recalled as I believe it to be a safety issue. Thanks.
