Three problems related to equipment have been reported for the 2000 Chevrolet 1500. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Was driving down road on 8/22/2015 turned corner heard loud pop and truck slid sideways into gaurd rail. I get out and see my shock wedged up in frame. Noticed lots of frame rust and shock support completely rusted away. My whole familly has the 02 to 06 chevy pickups and it seems there frames are atleast twice as thick (measuring in the non rusted sections). Now I need to find a new vehicle and thats all thats wrong with my truck. I wish chevy would do something for us chevy guys.
My car has only 50,400 miles-its a 2009, yesterday while driving I felt a jolting in the rear end of the truck and it continued each time I stopped and started driving again. I took it to my mechanic who informed me it was a transmission shifting problem. I went on line and discovered that this issue has been related to other silverado trucks as a recall due to a shift cable adjuster problem which can lead to a roll away.
Brake pedal went to the floor with no warning and pumping the brakes did very little to assist. Went through a stop sign since this was at the bottom of a lower grade, and was able to nurse it to a large parking lot. Inspected the cause and seen the corroded brake lines and could not tell which of the 5 lines were the cause.
