2 Brake Disc Pads problem

Failure Date: 06/06/2014

For several years, have been out time & expense of installing new park brake pads not needed, turning drums, tried replacing long brake cable under floor, pulled rear rotors several times & re adjusted park brake. . . 1 week later don't work again. . I have to put blocks under wheels for 3 years to keep truck from rolling down driveway. . Live on a hill. . Chevy don't need the tension on little bitty park gear in transmission. . . . Also have had to fix every Dec because safety inspection ends Dec,,,neighbors have Ford & Dodge & theirs will stay in driveway. . Have no idea how much money & time spent on a gm blunder. . . Why has their not been a recall ? another cover up by gm executives ?.

3 Brake Disc Pads problem

Failure Date: 05/08/2005

At low speeds the abs system engages when the break is applied causing the truck to brake poorly. Until just recently I've had no problems and my brake pads are fine per my mechanic who checked them about 2 weeks ago. While driving the truck I pulled into a friends driveway about 5mph and applied the brake on dry pavement when the abs came on and I was sent crashing into his garage. This has happend almost 20 times since that day. I can not even drive my truck to work anymore due to fear of hitting someone. I have a 2002 silverado xc 1500 4x4 that is very well maintained with 81332miles. My father and brother both own similar model gm trucks both 2000 models with exactly the same problem. Nothing has been done as of yet to fix my truck I'm waiting to see if I can make the dealer pay for the damages done and fix my brake system.

4 Brake Disc Pads problem

Failure Date: 03/25/2005

At 37720 miles on 2002 Chevrolet 4x4 pickup. Took vehicle to dealer for safety inspection and service to gm dealership. Was informed that vehicle would not pass inspection due to brake rotors and pads being rusted and worn out. This was in March 2005. In October 2005 received recall notice relating to severe corrosion between front hub/bearing and speed sensor. Filled for a claim reimbursement due to the fact that all parts were inter related. Also even the repair invoice stated worn out/rusted. Was informed that no reimbursement would be paid.

The contact owns a 2002 Chevrolet 1500. While driving at approximately 5 mph, the contact noticed that the vehicle continued moving when he depressed the brake pedal. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealership but the dealer could not duplicate the problem. A local mechanic replaced the brake pads and rotors but the contact was still experiencing the same failure. The contact had not called the manufacturer at the time of the complaint. The failure mileage was approximately 20,000. The current mileage was approximately 84,000.
