Instrument Panel Failure problems of the 2004 Chevrolet 1500

The truck's instrument panel failed. With the exception of the speedometer, all the gauges failed to show accurate readings. The issue began as a sporadic condition. The panel would work some days and then not work on others. In addition, we experienced the situation where the entire panel, including all dash lighting and digital displays have gone out for days at a time. As of December 2013, the main gauges are completely inoperable. We only have the working speedometer, no other gauges. We purchased this truck new and kept it well maintained. This problem should not occur under normal conditions. Please research and advise.
