Chevrolet 1500 owners have reported 3 problems related to air bag light on (under the air bag category). The most recently reported issues are listed below.
A month or two ago the heating system stayed blowing while in off position and even while the car was turned off, kept killing the battery so it had to be disconnected. Rear window will roll down at start up. Radio will squeal at start up and had to be turned on or off from the center console. This week the air bag light came on and check tire. Periodically the service stability light will blink on. Today the wipers will not turn off. Very worried that it will accelerate, catch fire or shut off while driving. We have an apt for repair on Monday. Is the electrical panel a category included int he recalls?.

Air bag light came on- bad impact sensor right front.
The vehicle had a brake failure due to a brake line rusting out. Further inspection revealed that the brake lines are of poor quality. And all the brake lines are rotted out. These are sized too small diameter to save weight . 3/16th cheap steel, and thin wall tubing, uncoated, unpainted, non galvanized, or any other type of protected brake line. It is a chronic problem with these vehicles. Gm decided to use these cheap thin wall brake lines. And all the brake lines and fuel lines , and power steering cooler lines, for that matter are rotted beyond safe use. While the rest of the vehicle looks beautiful. It is just blatent irresponsible behavior. To use these lines without rust protection. Paint at least. Or better yet, they should of been stainless or cad or galvanized plated lines. Gm should replace them for free, and the fuel lines and my rotted out cooler lines. The vehicle has 54,000 miles on it and is parked in my drive. I owe 3 years on it. I drove it 4000 miles . The brakes failed, the airbag lights on, the brake lights on, lines rotted all over, and its a piece of [xxx] . I hope gm rots in [xxx].
