The part of the frame that holds up the gas tank and connects to the shock has rotted away. I had to replace both rear leaf spring shakels do to rust as well as the left rear brake line. The rear of the truck is rusting away. I have had to replace the fuel pump, there is a knock in the steering colum that I have had fixed once already, the engin has ticking sound when idleing, and the a/c compresor is broken.
I was driving 60mph when construction cones brought traffic to one lane. As I began to apply my brakes, I could feel my foot going to the floor and I was not slowing at all. I tried the emergncy brake, and also no braking occured. I managed to drive onto the medium, and luckily was able to avoid all the "construction junk" that littered that area. After a very long time, I was able to safely maneuver to a safe stop. When I spoke with the mechanic, he told me there were no brake lines.
My 16 year old son was driving the vehicle when it went into "reduced engine power" mode and would not accelerate beyond idle speed. It took several restarts before it cleared and would run correctly. About the time I made it home it went back into this mode again. This is a very dangerous problem as it occurs without warning at any speed.
The speedometer began acting erratically. From 70 mph with the cruise control set, the indicated speed began to rise until the indicator needle hit the stop above 120 mph. When I stopped the vehicle the speedometer still read over 50 mph. After turning off the ignition, and then restarting the car, the indicator needle gradually worked its way back to the right indication. This problem recurres daily and creates a hazard, because I have no real indication of my speed, as well as the distraction of having to think about whether my indicated speed is accurate.
Consumer wanted to returned the vehicle because she couldn't close the garage door. (nar).
Dashboard support rail extends from the dashboard to the floorboard, plastic covering becomes caught on the drivers right foot, causing vehicle to accelerate. Plastic covering has been removed, dealer contacted.
Intermittently the vehicle accelerates, sometimes when putting vehicle in reverse. When coming to a stop light, consumer decelerated when the vehicle experienced sudden acceleration from 20 mph to 40 mph, causing consumer to put on brakes. Dealer said that floor mats may have been the problem. But consumer does not feel this is true. Consumer says there was no mat on floor. VIN # (2gcec19r4w1173781).
