Two problems related to automatic transmission have been reported for the 2001 Chevrolet 2500. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
A 2001 Chevrolet 2500k hd with allison 1000 transmission would slow down and eventually stop in heavy traffic on any highway. Starting date of those incidents was in April 2001. In warranty there were several scary situations, by where we had been pulling an RV on interstate highways. Only luck and some experience saved us from disaster.
Have itermitent neutral/sliping from stop at operating temp dealer says every thing is ok worried about saftey of this problem have not towed with this truck afraied to do not feel comfortable taking truck out of town.
