Two problems related to manifold/header/muffler/tail pipe have been reported for the 2003 Chevrolet 2500. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
The heads of the bolts that hold the exhaust manifolds to the cylinder heads are breaking off for no apparent reason causing an exhaust leak.
I have had a exhaust leak that I finally pinpointed to be broken exhaust manifold bolts. The truck was bought new by me and has never had any exaust work done. Now I have to take it to a dealer to have this expensive repair done. Apperantly this seems to be an extensive problem, with these bolts. This I understand to be an extensive repair. Gm knows there is a problem with the bolts, why wont they make it right.
