Air Bag Problems of Chevrolet 2500

Truck would not start so I put the battery charger on it, on slow charge. About 2 hours later I heard a loud bang, walked out side and both air bags had deployed and busted the windshield.

The manufacturer was contacted and could not provide an estimated date for when the contacts vehicle would receive the recall repair. The contact was not experiencing a failure. Takata recall. I received my notice for recall July 2015 and have contacted the dealer on several occasions only to be told no replacement parts are available. Given the nature of the recall and the fact injuries and deaths are still occurring how long do they have before they must replace the defective part.

I suggest they be ordered to stop producing cars until they fix the ones that are on the road already. Perhaps that would get them to produce a remedy for this life threatening safety problem!.

Takata recall received July 2015 and have not been notified of parts available as yet. With deaths being reported frequently I would like to know when to expect repairs to be done.

Cracks in the dash around front passenger air bag. If air bag is deployed in the event of a front end collision, pieces of the dash can come loose and cause additional injuries, or possibly damage the air bag duing deployment.

Crack on the dash from the air bag to the defrost vent.

Head on collision hit the brakes and truck jumped. When vehicles hit seatbelt didn't lock right away which threw me forward and into the drivers side door. It was a head on accident and airbags never went off which make the emt's and police concerned do to the damage to the truck. .
