My 2006 Chevrolet 2500 hd diesel has had a vapor lock on the fuel filter @ least 3 times in one week. When it happens the vehicle just shuts down. This is very unsafe as you have very little or no breaks and steering. Just missed a car the first time it happened because I could not steer out of harms way fast enough. The second time I just missed a pedestrian in a parking lot. I just could not imagine what would happen the freeway.
Fuel blew into the engine, which could have resulted in a fire.
