| Transmission Fluid Leaking problems |
I noticed pink liquid leaking on 2006 chevy silverado 3500 diesel, 46,000 miles. I only realized it was leaking (pink fluid) because of the snow we recently had. I took it to the dealership expecting it to be covered under the warranty. Dealership quoted $841. 08 before taxes to fix transmission lines. I inquired about warranty and he said it wasn't the engine. I decided to search on line because I thought the transmission was a part of the powertrain and found many, many, many complaints about this same problem. Of course no where near the $ I was quoted. The complaints even are having the same vehicle in multiple times with the same problem. I just wander why nothing has been done about this. How is this not a safety issue?.
Chevrolet silverado 3500 diesel pu - I noticed red fluid leaking under the front of the truck. When my mechanic looked at it he said the transmission fluid lines were leaking, along with the power steering line. He had worked on four with the same problem. Had I driven to the dealer, 50 miles away, I could have locked up or burned up my transmission and may have lost my power steering as well. When I spoke with a 15 year service tech at the dealer, he said there is definitely an issue & has been for over 12 months.
