The contact stated that while driving at approximately 60 mph, the check engine warning illuminated, and the vehicle lost automotive power. The contact stated that his sister-in-law had also experienced the failure while driving. The contact was able to drive the vehicle back to the residence of the owner. The transmission was shifted to park(p) and the vehicle was turned off. The vehicle was restarted and shifted to drive(d); however, the vehicle failed to respond. There was an abnormal clunking and clicking sound coming from the rear end of the vehicle. The contact, a certified mechanic, scanned the vehicle and retrieved dtc: p70747 – (valve body solenoid 1 stuck in on position). The contact stated that the vehicle failed to respond while shifting into drive(d) and the accelerator pedal depressed. The contact researched online and related the failure to NHTSA campaign number: 24v797000 (power train); however, while checking online, the VIN was not included in the recall. The contact called a local dealer and the manufacturer and was informed that the VIN was not included in the recall. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 198,000.

The contact owns a 2020 Chevrolet silverado 3500. The contact stated that while her husband was driving 70 mph, the vehicle entered limp mode with the check engine warning light illuminated. The contact then received an alert on the Chevrolet app stating, “engine transmission code". Due to the failure, the contact's husband drove in limp mode to the nearest independent mechanic and the mechanic discovered that the pressure-controlled solenoid-a was defective and needed to be replaced. The dealer was notified of the failure and the contact was informed that the part needed for the repair was on backorder. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated that the sensor kit and fuel level sensor were replaced; however, the failure persisted. The contact stated that on a separate occasion, the check engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a different dealer, valmark Chevrolet in new braunfels, TX, where it was diagnosed that the engine control module, gateway module, service brake light and steep sensor had failed. The shaft sensor, gasket, and passenger’s side rear axle were replaced. The dealer test-drove the vehicle and informed the contact that the codes were cleared. Afterward, the contact was informed that the codes were not reset. Most recently, an abnormal sound was coming from the drive line between one and nine miles per hour, intermittently. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired after the most recent failure. The contact informed the dealer that the air bag warning light was illuminated. The dealer diagnosed that the overhead console needed to be replaced. The vehicle was replaced. The driver's seat frame seized and was replaced. The contact stated that the lights across the dashboard were flashing. Most recently, while the contact's husband was driving at various speeds, the transmission failed to function as intended. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed with transmission failure. The transmission was replaced.
