Three problems related to parking brake linkage and cable have been reported for the 2002 Chevrolet Avalanche. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Consumer states the emergency brake cable is wearing. Out. As a result, a squeaking noise is produced.
The braking system on my 2002 Chevrolet Avalanche seemed inadequate. I have now found that only the rear brakes on the vehicle were working. In addition, the emergency brake has apparently never worked correctly. The vehicle is fairly new and only has about 28k miles on it.
Parking brake fails to hold the vehicle. Pedal goes to the floor but parking brake does not engage.
