Three problems related to headlights have been reported for the 2003 Chevrolet Avalanche. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
The contact owns a 2003 Chevrolet Avalanche. While driving approximately 65 mph, the instrument panel failed. In addition, the driver side headlight failed. The failure recurred numerous times. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the instrument panel needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The VIN was unknown. The approximate failure mileage was 70,000.
"electrical power surge" is what the service department called it. Blows head and fog lights on a regular basic. I have replaced them 6 times in 2 years.
I want to add my voice to those who find the xenon headlights a danger to other drivers. They are blinding and sometimes cause a moment of being unable to see anything on the road before me. Even if the moment lasts a half-second, I think it is a safety issue. I would like to see these headlights banned.
