Two problems related to transmission noise have been reported for the 2004 Chevrolet Avalanche. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
I have problem with the brake system, and the transmission fluid came out from the from front passenger side. I took it to the chevy dealer, but I was told that the transmission clutch was burned out, maybe it an defected transmission or recall, im not sure, but I do know that the transmission and the brake system are not in safe conditions, nor workable. Not to mention the cracking noise in the front of the suspension, while turning.
During acceleration (taking foot off acclerator stops noise) a grinding noise appears to be coming from rear axle or transmission. Noise is intermittent, occurs approximately 4-5 times per week. Have not been able to identify unique conditions that cause occurrence. Noise will generally only occur for a single acceleration and after it goes away, it is unknown when it will return.
