One problem related to starter has been reported for the 2005 Chevrolet Avalanche. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Was driving and came to stop, my speedometer did not zero out. When I started to go it continued from where it was. I did not really know how fast I was going. Several stops and each time it did not zero. To get it zeroed I had to shut off engine and restart several times until it zeroed out. It has occurred several times this brings excessive wear and tear on the starter and battery. It could also be a very dangerous situation as you really have no clue on your correct speed.
