general problems of the 2007 Chevrolet Avalanche

Five problems related to other fuel system have been reported for the 2007 Chevrolet Avalanche. The most recently reported issues are listed below.

1 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 01/04/2019

Stabilitrak and traction control warning messages frequently display and cause harsh shifting and reduced power. Vehicle may be stationary or driven.

2 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 01/14/2017

Two weeks ago driving 60mph on highway in snow engine light illuminates and lose total power. "reduce power mode" illuminated but engine shut off. We almost got rear ended by a tractor trailer on us 48 in wv. On side of road for 2 hrs in 20 degree weather waiting on aaa (no shoulder on hway) and motor starts. Take it to garage and get throttle position sensor (tps) code ans stabilitrak/abs code. We had accidentally hit the onstar button a minute before this and mechanic thought that was related so he cleared code and sent us on our way. For two weeks we were good andit happened again on highway in rain us 70east this weekend, again in middle of highway. This time car started after five minutes. Took car to dealer and they state the tps needs replacing and front wheel speed sensor broken. There is a gm service bulletin #11273b where gm acknowledges tps issue and covers replacement of tps for 2008-2011 vehicles. Also bulletin pip3089b for bad wiring to tps for 2003-2006 Avalanches. Gm denied my service despite the fact that a 2007 tps and throttle body are the same exact part number as the defective one. This is super dangerous and extremely frequent as there are 550 posts alone on edmunds as well as many reports to https://forums. Edmunds. Com/discussion/5759/GMC/yukon-denali/GMC-yukon-reduced-engine-power-message/p22. Please assist as they are not standing behind a defective and deadly product as the computer cuts total power right on highway. . .

3 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 02/04/2014

This vehicle has had oil consumption problems since purchased. It runs out of oil 1500 miles after an oil change. Several consumer complaints have proved this is a very common problem and suggested reporting it to the epa. My truck now needs a new engine because of this common defect with the afm and bad lifters in the 2007 Chevrolet Avalanches. It is completely abnormal for an engine to burn this much oil into the environment. Not to mention the consumers who are now being forced to replace engines due to this problem. It needs to be fixed.

4 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 06/18/2008

Cracked dashboard on passenger side where airbag is fitted. Upper lefthand side of airbag. Traction control/stabilitrac system: service indicator warnings activate, switches from 2 wheel drive to 4 wheel drive high even though selector is in 2wd mode. The first occurrence of this was at 70k miles, then again at 90k. Then again at 97k the transmission was damaged and needed to be replaced. Again at 101k miles the ringgear in the rear axel was destroyed. Rear axel was replaced. Fifth time for those counting, 116k miles service stabilitrac and service traction control warnings, switching from 2wd to 4wd high while moving, while parked, selector in 2wd position with someone at the wheel or cab empty. Evaporative emission control warning. Check engine light on, code comes back to eec. Indicating a leak in the return line. The first time this was replaced at 70k miles, this is the second time. And no it is not the gas cap being loose or needing replaced. The first time there was "water in the connector" (yeah sure).

5 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 12/28/2006

Tl- the contact owns a 2007 Chevrolet Avalanche 1500. The contact stated that while parked, the vehicle would not start and the engine warning light continued to illuminate in the process. The vehicle was towed to a dealer where it was diagnosed that an unknown part related to the fuel system needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired but the failure recurred. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.
