Recreational Vehicle Lpg Tank Valve/gauge problems of the 2008 Chevrolet Avalanche

Two problems related to recreational vehicle lpg tank valve/gauge have been reported for the 2008 Chevrolet Avalanche. The most recently reported issues are listed below.

1 Recreational Vehicle Lpg Tank Valve/gauge problem

Failure Date: 10/03/2015

Bought used in the beginning of September 2015 and a month later noticed two cracks in my dashboard (one by the passenger side air bag and the other over the gauge cluster). In November I contacted Chevrolet customer service after reading many have had similar problems and they had a dealership look at it at their expense but told me it would take over $1,000 to repair. I feel that if this is a common problem, gm should be responsible for because if I were to get in an accident the dashboard can become pieces of shrapnel and interfere with the airbag deployment.

2 Recreational Vehicle Lpg Tank Valve/gauge problem

Failure Date: 05/01/2012

I bought my vehicle in may of 2012 with about 85,000 miles on it. At the time there was two small cracks in the dashboard, (1) starting from the front edge of the dashboard going around the rounded area covering/above the gauges, and (1) smaller crack going from the corner of the airbag-rectangle to the front edge of the dashboard. The cracks have continued to grow and have become a problem that will require them to be fixed/replaced/covered.
