general problems of the 2011 Chevrolet Avalanche - part 1

Was advised of the recall of my vehicle on Feb 26th 2021 and that the part to fix the problem was not available it is now six months later and have heard nothing and don,t know how log they expect people to wait with a faulty part to be repaired.

February of 2021 I was notified the driver side air bag in my truck I drive daily has an issue that if goes off can cause serious injury or death. That as 6 months ago and still no path forward to fix it, how safe it this for me to drive is death is an option? I feel this would be a concern for drivers and the companies doing more to prevent something if a part cannot be secured. Maybe start offering deals to accept the trade ins so your customer doesn't have to drive around an unsafe vehicle because of supply issues? this needs to be addressed so something silly can be avoided.

Dashboard has 5 large cracks 4 lateral an 1 vertical top front speaker has fallen off clips. Vehicle dashboard started cracking while just sitting over time and while driving road vibration help cracking continue I'm afraid that with the cracking since it is in the passenger airbag area as well it could cause airbag to deploy causing more damage injuries to passenger or a wreck by suddenly going off and causing driver to swerve suddenly.

I have received several notices about having the air bags replaced but the local chev dealer tells me when they get the parts they will call me. When will the parts be ready?.

I am the owner of a 2011 Chevrolet Avalanche. I received the Chevrolet recall, I went to do the airbag repair and they inform me that the company that makes it has gone bankrupt and there is no repair. They also inform me that it is dangerous to use the vehicle since the airbag can cause damage. What I can do?.

Safety issue. Dash is cracking near airbag. This could possibly cause premature deployment of airbag or shrapnel from dash causing harm during deployment. Dash is also cracking over steering wheel area.

Tahata recall, I was told by the dealer that there is a pending recall from may 2016 but they don't have a fix yet. You would think that by now something should have been done. Am I risking the lives of myself and passengers?.

I got recall letter about the airbags and when I called the dealership to see if they can fix it they said no.

Air bag service light is on the truck will surge with no warning cause the instrument to black out and would cause the truck to stop check engine light is on with no key and control on the steering not functional.

Takata recall - my airbag is under recall and I contacted my dealer who does not have a replacement or knows nothing about how I can get a new part. I am fearful to drive the vehicle. Takata.

Takata recall # 2049151. I have been trying to schedule an appointment with chevy dealer in burbank California phone # 818 5617278 for the last year, and they keep telling me that the parties have not arrived yet. Can you please assist me or refer me to who ever can assist in this matter.

Cracked dash above instrument cluster and on the passenger air bag. Chevrolet refuses to fix a known manufacture defect if this vehicle is ever in an accident the risk of death or serious bodily injury is extremely high.

My dashboard cracked in two places, by the passenger airbag and over the instrument cluster. As near as I can tell it occurred when my wife was driving on a highway. Highway 99 from athens, al to salem, al. We are afraid that, if anything occurs to cause the airbag to inflate it will send shards of plastic flying through the cab.

Cracks in dashboard - 2nd dashboard with cracks again. Definite design/material flaw.

Received recall letter from gm July 2016 contacted our local dealership several times and request new airbag during routine service. The dash around the airbag has two cracks and vibrates when driving. It is garage kept, 87,000 miles. It needs to be repaired or replaced. I am worried that the airbag may not work or that passenger will be injured with plastic from dash if needed in crash.

Takata recall gm still has not taken care of this. The recall has been in effect for over a year.

I recieved a recall notification July 2016 and have continued to followup for airbag replacement, to date I was informed by the dealer and company (general motors) that action is still pending. Over 2 yrs. , really? NHTSA campaign for this recall is 16v381. Your attention and resolution action is much appreciated.

Takata recall, I received notice from general motors of a recall in July, 2016. No remedy is available for this airbag problem. According to the recall notice this is a "safety issue". When should I expect a fix for my vehicle?.

Dashboard cracked while sitting in driveway and now violently shakes and bounces while driving including right above airbag, see this is a very common problem with this truck, concerned on the affect this would have if in accident due to the sharp edges and continuing growing length of the crack, could easily send sharp shards if in accident and wife is already severly disabled. Gm is aware but did not offer any help.
