The contact owns a 2004 Chevrolet Aveo. The contact stated that the air bag warning indicator remained illuminated. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The VIN was unknown. The approximate failure mileage was 140,390.
Air bag light will not shut off. Dealer has repaired it at least 4 times and now it is on again. He says they can't or won't do it under warranty, and told me it would cost about $500. 00 this is just not acceptable. Seems like there are lots of complaints about Aveo air bag light staying on. There should be a recall and get them fixed.
Air bag indicator light came on in mid January 2008 and has remained on. The car just went out of warranty in Aug 2007. Since I have been deployed for 15 months, I was not able to discover this problem while it was still under standard warranty. After contacting Chevrolet about several issues with the brakes and air bag light, they instructed me to get it diagnosed. The diagnosis revealed an ecw failure but nothing could be found wrong with the brakes. Recommendation from Chevrolet servco is to have ecw fixed. After the occurrence with the brakes, my husband began driving the vehicle.
