This is happening to my car. Would like them to fix it . Manufacture defect and it is a huge safety issue. Effect pedal function. Some customers may comment on an intermittent malfunction indicator lamp (mil) being illuminated with a message or an indicator that displays reduced engine power. The technician may observe on a scan tool dtc p2138 - accelerator pedal position (app) sensor 1-2 correlation set as current or in history. This condition may be caused by water intrusion into the instrument panel (ip) to body harness connector, which carries the app sensor signals to the ecm/pcm. This water intrusion results in a voltage difference between app sensor 1 and app sensor 2 that exceeds a predetermined value for more than a calibrated period of time, setting p2138. This technical bulletin provides repair information for repairing the ip to body harness connector to correct a customer concern for intermittent malfunction indicator lamp (mil) illuminated with reduced engine power displayed and dtc p2138 set. 15 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 12/26/2014

2006 Chevrolet Aveo, have had recall notice for several months. Have heard nothing new, drl fail regularly as well as passenger side running lights and dashboard lights. 16 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 10/20/2014

My key was stuck in the ignition between the "accessory" setting and having the car running. I googled the problem; recommended fix was to remove fuse for radio, so I did. I was able to remove keys from ignition but when I was ready to leave again I could not shift out of 'park. ' I put the radio fuse back in, and my gearshift & transmission work perfectly. Every time I get out of my car I have to pull the radio fuse out, remove my keys, then install the radio fuse again so that I can get out of 'park' when I need to drive later.

18 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 08/02/2014

I was driving down the hwy about 60 mph and tried to push the gas but all it did was sputter and slowdown. Had to pull over and see what was wrong. Cod not find anything so I started it up again and the same thing. It just sputters. So I drove to a service station (very slowly) that I just had my oil change the previous day thinking they may have done something. After they checked it, they said it was nothing related to them but that they hooked it up to a machine and it was reading 11 different types of censors causing it to misfire. They had just had in a 2007 chevy cobalt doing the same thing that there was a recall on. Wondering if the recall for the 2006 Aveo for the drl would cause these problems?! they service tech mentioned more than likely it is not 11 censors but just 1or 2 affecting the others read on the machine.

2006 Chevrolet Aveo. Consumer writes in regards to vehicle multiple mechanical and electrical problems. The consumer stated she experienced multiple mechanical and electrical problems with the vehicle. It was not disclosed to her, that the vehicle had frame damage, it was a fleet vehicle, and the air bags were replaced with used ones. While driving 45 mph, a bolt in the broke, which caused the engine to collapse and landed on the axle, breaking it on the driver's side. Also, she had the axle replaced previously, not knowing there was a problem with the frame. Due to the frame damage and warped undercarriage, a bolt connected to the frame that was connected to the motor mount hidden under the engine had previously bent and severed 3/4 of the way through the bolt. It went un-detected and her mechanic didn't know what to look for, since the frame was not disclosed.

Instrument panel cluster fuse kept blowing, only when fuel gauge was below half of a tank. Dealer was unable to find problem. Soon after instrument panel lights, gear shift lights, and passenger side tail light went out. Replaced tail light bulbs, and still did not work. Read forums and found the problem was splicer in the hood compartment fuse box. Seems to be a common problem with this car, there needs to be a recall due to extreme safety issues. Cannot see or be seen at night, cannot see gauges when driving at night.

I have been reading all the complaints on the same problem with the light going out on the dashboard and the shift gear light as well at the same time all the fuses have been checked there all good so with all the complaints I have read there should be a recall on this some people dash even started a fire come on chevy people do a recall.

31 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 05/01/2012

The passenger airbag sensor never turns off, even when someone is sitting in the seat. All of the instrument panel gauges periodically stop working and the instrument panel cluster fuse blows frequently. Also have to frequently use the shift-lock release feature in order to get the car out of park. Have had previous problems with the key getting stuck in the ignition. The daytime running lights also periodically stop working (they turn on and off randomly). Have needed to have damaged wires in the hood compartment fuse box replaced, but all problems keep coming back. Can no longer afford to keep taking the car in for repairs and cannot afford a new car, so I am currently driving with all of these problems. I do not ever feel safe in the car and avoid taking it anywhere unless I absolutely have to. Many of these same problems have been reported by other owners and there needs to be more recalls than just the current fire hazard recall.

32 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 03/01/2012

My daughter was driving to the store when she smelled smoke. She had some things on the passenger side floor and noticed smoke coming out. She pulled into a parking lot and got out of the car with flames coming up from around the front console of the dash board. The police arrived and were able to put out the fire just before the firemen arrived. She only lost her cell phone which was laying between the seats and a few things were ruined from the fire retardant.
