Brake Antilock Wheel Speed Sensor problems of the 2007 Chevrolet Aveo

The contact owns a 2007 Chevrolet Aveo. The contact stated that when the brake pedal was depressed, the contact noticed an abnormal noise and the brakes failed. The contact began pumping the brake pedal and the vehicle was able to stop. The contact stated that the abs warning light illuminated intermittently. The failure recurred multiple times. The vehicle was taken to a mechanic who diagnosed an abs speed sensor failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 37,800.

2007 Chevrolet Aveo. Consumer states technical/ mechanical problems with vehicle the consumer stated the abs light illuminated and remained on. When the consumer engaged the brake pedal, the pedal was forced back up again, making a grinding noise and then proceeded to go another three or four feet before the vehicle would stop. The consumer took the vehicle to the dealer. Upon inspection, it was determined the left and right speed sensors were faulty and had shorted out which caused the abs light to illuminate.

The abs warning light comes on after brake failure. Sometimes while driving the vehicle or making right turn bends my brakes fail and I can not stop if I had to. This is a very important problem that needs to be corrected. I have almost had numerous accidents because of this problem!! it can be fixed but Chevrolet should fix it at no cost to me. It is a safety recall as far as I am concerned! this is not a minor problem and other vehicles of my make, model, and year are more than likely experiencing the same problems that I am having! the exact part that needs to be replaced are the abs wheel speed sensors for the front left and right brake.

Chevrolet Aveo 2007 abs braking system failure to brake during slow speeds and one time on the highway. I currently have 98,000+ miles on a Chevrolet Aveo 2007 and while recently getting several services completed in the $500 range I got new brake pads on my vehicle because they were worm out. I was also having breaking problems while parking my vehicle. The abs don't allow the breaks to engage and I have to use the emergency break. Its now been around 3 months since November 2009 when the abs breaking system began to fail and my vehicle stopping has gotten worse. The dealer refuses to cover the parts under warranty nor to check the problem for free. I have replaced the fuse when this first occurred as hearing the pcm can reset causing the system to work again as it did until this year. I recently brought my vehicle into the Chevrolet dealer whom has recently diagnosed my vehicle for $69. 99 plus tax. A speed sensor bad was diagnosed and is getting fixed. The dealer told me this part isn't covered under warranty and cost $150. The abs going bad on the highway was the final call when pulling off the interstate at 35 mph and during parking/slow speeds I'm required to use the parking break. The warranty doesn't cover this part and costs $150. 00 plus labor hours. I feel as this is a safety recall issue and should be covered by the dealer. Based on being required to use the emergency break to stop my vehicle during some stops I find this a very huge safety concern.
