Fuel Injector problem #1

2009 Aveo, started April 2010, at a traffic light, the car began to shake. The tach needle was jumping between 500 and 1500. It was acting like it was about to die than tach jumped up. I heard the engine surge. Light changed and car barely moved. I pressed gas pedal to floor but car would lunge forward than act to stall. I put injector cleaner in next fuel tank. Thought it was fixed. 3-weeks later as I was crossing a four lane road, car act as I described above, tach needle bounce between 500 and 1500, car sputtered and surged. Took car to gm dealer, their computer found no problems or codes. No engine light, no code, cleaner mass air flow sensor, got gas at different station. July 2010 took car to dealer again. Still no codes, found no problems. I thought problem might have to do with high humidity, since that was the only commonality I could find with each incident. The problem occurs every couple of weeks, I have gone through a complete tank of gas with no problem. It occurs at different time s of day, different outside temperatures, and weather getting cold it does it. Took car to dealer October. They said possible the 10% ethanol gas maybe problem, so use premium gas. After three premium gas fills. Temperature below freezing car sputtered and surged than stalled. Rolled to stop, turned key off, than started car up and drove home with no problems. Three days later, another below freezing temp, car began slowing down at 40mph than surged. When the car was slowing down the tach was dropping off than jumped back up with the surge. As of today the car has 11158 miles for less than two years old.

Fuel Pump problem #2

While driving on the interstate heading home, the vehicle stopped. Luckily I was able to coast to the side. I was told it was the ignition coils and that there was an open recall on the vehicle for this issue. I had the vehicle towed to a Chevrolet dealership. They fixed the problem so I thought. Now, on October 28, 2013 with my 4 year old son in the car the vehicle stopped in the middle of the street. I had the vehicle towed to the same dealership. This time I was told it was my fuel pump, however upon picking up the vehicle, there is a loud knocking noise coming from the engine and is serious shaking. These things are very similar to the issue with the ignition coils. Luckily traffic was not too bad when the car stopped on both the interstate and with my son, things could have been really bad.
