general problems of the 2010 Chevrolet Aveo

Problem with the transmission.

When I drive down the street my car will go out of drive the I will have to stop the car then turn it off. Then turn it back on.

Tl- the contact owns a 2010 Chevrolet Aveo. The contact stated that the vehicle was smoking while the vehicle was idle. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where the technician diagnosed that the head gasket, manifold gasket, lube valve cover, timing belt, and upper radiator hose malfunctioned and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. After this failure the vehicle's check engine warning indicator illuminated. The vehicle was taken back to the independent mechanic where it could not be diagnosed. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified. The failure mileage was approximately 122000. Kh.

Tl-the contact owns a 2010 Chevrolet Aveo. The contact stated that while driving approximately 23 mph, the vehicle stalled without warning. The vehicle restarted however, the vehicle failed to move. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 80,536. Pam.

2010 Chevrolet Aveo. Consumer states problem with vehicle not having power several months after the vehicle was purchased, the consumer began experiencing situations where there was absolutely no power. She would be driving down the road, highway or interstate and all of a sudden the vehicle would begin to slow down, and when pressing the accelerator, there was absolutely nothing. She would pull off to the side of the road, turn the vehicle off and back on and it would go again. The dealer performed the po132 bulletin 100604012. The consumer then took the vehicle to firestone, because the check engine light illuminated for the second time and she continued to have no power. The consumer then went to another dealer, where they replaced the 02 sensor. Several months later, she received a recall notice regarding an emissions problem which was performed on may 22, 2012. After the recall was performed, the power issue continued.

I was driving on the highway when the engine light came on. The vehicle ran for a few minutes before it started losing power and chugging along on the highway. When I pulled off, I had to flutter on the gas to keep the car from stalling at the stop sign. To make it home on the back roads, I did not stop at stop signs for fear of the car stalling, I had the gas pedal to the floor and it was only going approximately 10 mph. I did not drive it to the dealership, it was towed. They found several engine control module updates. Reflashed ecm code s47490d. Performed campaign 11290 spark plugs and boot. While at dealership, tech found rear shocks were leaking. E5807 - rear shock absorbers replaced, both sides.

Wife was driving down expressway when all of the systems shut off. Just like she had turned the key off. She coasted to the side of the road and after about 30 minutes she restarted the car and drove home. She took the car to the dealership where we purchased it, they checked the car and found nothing wrong.
