Four tires of autogrip p308 40k/ag308p1402 were purchased in late November 2015 when the vehicle had 61674 miles on it. The vehicle was in for service in late February 2017 with only 69933 miles when the mechanic noticed the tires were worn to the wearbar. This was not the location where the tires had been purchased. For warranty reasons the vehicle was taken to the location where the tires had been purchased and had them replaced, the company that the tires were originally purchased from did not replace tires for free, but prorated the cost of new tires. They no longer carry this brand and claim the vehicle caused the problem. My spouse and I feel that the tires themselves were defective, but do not see any recall on this product. This is the sixth vehicle that we have owned in our adult lives and have not experience such a quick product failure with tires. We believe an investigation is in order and thank you for reviewing the concern.

I have had to replace the suspension rods, (tie rods, struts, and brakes and now the ball bearrings in the tires. I bought this car in 2010 which from my understanding it was supposed to be new at the time of purchase from baum Chevrolet in clinton, illinois. I have bought three sets of tires (new) what is up with this car? drive daily. I have reported it to general motors who insist it is not on recall. It should be.
Tpms system is defective, can not be reset or relearned/reprogrammed by dealers. Need replacement of software within ecu or tpms module, after import from gm korea daewoo plants. Software issues?.
I bought brand new landsail tires on 05/09/2016 and the right front passenger tire has worn out at 3,967 miles. I was driving on a city street when I noticed the car showing its low tire pressure light and the tire was making noise. I pulled to the side of the road and noticed the tire was completely destroyed, wires showing, and the damage was what caused the tire to go flat and the light to come on. I had to replace the front tires and the mechanic put the exact same brand of tire on the car. The mechanic said it wasn't an alignment issue, that they didn't know what would cause the tire to go bad in under 4,000 miles.
My 2009 Aveo5 2009. My brakes keep going out. But I am having to replace my wheel bearings 3 times in last 3 years. I don't understand why. I am scared because the back one is now making lots of noise so I know it's another wheel bearing grinding. Is this considered in the recall of 2014 on Aveo 5 2009.
I was driving and my whole right rear wheel came off while I was driving on the road out of nowhere. I slid about 30 yards down the street and hit an object that damaged my front end. Thought it was my tire but come to find out it was literally my whole wheel and it ripped out my back bumper. My tire is in good shape but my whole wheel bearing came off. The drum lug nut is still intact. I believe this is a manufacturer defect that needs to be brought to your attention. My life was jeopardized and I'm so glad I wasn't on the freeway because if so I may not be here today. I strongly suggest some action needs to partake in this situation and matter!.
I was traveling on the kansas turnpike returning home from a family funeral when I noticed smoke coming from under the steering wheel. I pulled to the side of the road at mile marker 116. My son and I both got out of the car and within 5 minutes flames began shooting out from around the steering wheel. It took state troopers approx 10 to 15 minutes to arrive on scene and approx 20 to 25 minutes for the fire dept to arrive. By the time state patrol arrived on scene the car was fully engulfed in flames.

My car started to shake, squeak, and jerk. This has been ongoing for a few days now, after taking it to two different mechanics. I then learned about the safety recalls for the wheel barring, drive train, and pulley system for the engine. I called my dealership where I purchased the used car and was told they couldnt help me with recalls. I then called gm directly and was told there was no open recall on my car. I further researched and found that to be a lie, your data base alone states there is one that may cause the car to catch fire. This is my first car to purchase and with it having major safety recalls and no one wanting to help, I didnt know who else to contact.

The contact took her vehicle back to the dealer and again the dealer stated the vehicle tires would need to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired again. The tires where repaired 3 times. Both dealer and manufacturer were made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 15,000. The current mileage was 50,000. The VIN was not available. Az.
Took Aveo to certified chevy dealer as instructed by gm customer service to have front suspension problem diagnosed. While there, told my tires were worn out at less than 20000 miles. Left front strut and bearing replaced for creaking front end. On drive back to my home, with 500. 00 worth of new tires, the creaking is still there. The tires will undoubtedly wear out again. This is a continuing problem with front suspension that gm will not take responsibility for. Calling customer service again today. I had tried to get problem fixed while under warranty and was told they couldn't find a problem. Now they seem to be able to. What do I do with this car that can't be fixed?.
12-1-12 purchased vehicle from john l sullivan, the vehicle had a slight pull and sale person said it was just the low tire. While filling out paperwork and finance docs vehicle was detailed and tire was adjusted. We had the finance people put an extra clause in about the tire and the issue being fixed. 1/3/13- car goes in because of it pulling and tire light on- they said it was just because the detail person over filled all of the tires. Because of medical surgeries I was unable to drive the car from time of purchase until January 29, 2013. I gave it a month just because I was going from an SUV to this small car and I kept thinking that it was just the difference in cars. Then I decided no there is something wrong with this car. 3/2/13 back to john sullivan for pulling and whistle noise. Shop cross rotated tires and did alignment and said car was all fixed. 3/18/13- took car back same thing car pulls at 60-65 feels like the front and back are fighting against each other. Sullivan replaced tire and forced alignment(no where on the invoice can I find that they replaced the tire but per eric they did) 3/25/13- car back to sullivan same thing, put a shim in and aligned again. (during this visit a scratch and a dent occurred while they had vehicle) 3/29/13- looked at dent and said they did it to bring car in on 4/2/13 for repairs I also advised that the car is still doing the same thing pulling. 4/2/13- car back fixed paint and two or three people test drove car and yes the car is pulling but that's just because the car is small and it's just how the Aveo drives. Bottom line I am being told is even though several attempts to repair a chevy Aveo is just a vehicle that pulls against itself while driving down the freeway.
We have had numerous problems with the battery not staying charged. We would get ready to drive it and we would need to get a jump start. It got to the point where we considered buying a portable charger so we wouldn't have to wait for roadside assistance. In the last incident, I was driving and all of the lights illuminated at once. The power steering stopped working and then the car stopped. As we were waiting for a tow truck, a mechanic who was driving by looked under the hood and discovered that our serpentine belt and another belt had broken. We took it to a mechanic and were told that there was engine damage and the head gasket needed to be replaced and possibly the whole engine. Also, we have had to replace the tires numerous times for no apparent reason. They keep going flat. According to a consumer affairs website, these issues seem to be common with Aveo owners. . The car began to shake as I was driving down the highway. Then the wheels started to pull and the car began going from the left side of the highway to the right side of the highway. Soon after the car began to spin on the highway and I attempted to pull to the side of the road and collided with a wall.
I purchased my car in August of 2010 brand new in August of 2011 I had to replace all 4 tires the tires that were on were hankook so they put 4 new tires on in July 2012 my tires were shot and I went to get my car inspected and it wouldn't pass on this one hankook said the tires that were on it were 60,000 tires so they would pay 80 % and I had to pay 20% and I could pick whatever brand of tire I wanted I didn't know what to pick so went with yokohama and those were put on somewhere between 25 to 26,000 +miles well here I am August now of 2013 I knew my tires were shot so set it up for inspection and of course it would not pass I had to have 4 new tires again. These chevy paid for 2 and I had to pay for 2 they now have put continental my new car from Aug. 2010 now has its 4th set of tires on my car was a little over 38,408 miles on it when the 4th set of tires was put on I keep trying to tell them there has to be a defect in the vehicle that this is not normal(and I don't see how it is safe) I do tire rotations and tire alignments and am now being told by the district specialist that at least now we have it recorded and these are 60,000 mile tires (which I said wow so was the first 2 sets of hankook. (these 2 tires cost me $260 and I do not think this is something that is normal to be dealt with every year. I have never even had an old vehicle that went through 4 tires every year.
Tires never last very long, may get 10,000 miles out of a set since we bought the car. Car has been making alot of noise going over any little bump and we changed the shocks and one was bad, started around 90,000. It is still making some noise and the dealer said that the rear axle bushing is bad and would have to get a new rear axle $$$-$$$$. Also the paint along the bottom of both doors on the outside on both sides had been starting to come off.

I purchased a 2008 chevy Aveo in may of 2008 I have had problem with front end vibration and pulling to the left. I started reporting the problem Aug. 08. They rotated tires and that should solve the problem. Again I took it to the dealer oct. 2008, Mar. 2009,and then again July, 2009. They told me once again that tires needed rotated and front in alignment. I stored the car for the winter oct. 2009 to April, 2010. I now have taken back for the same problem. They now tell me it has to bent rims with no sign of damage. They just won't spin out true when they are put on machine. This vehicle has never been in any type of accident. Tires are worn out with 20,000 miles on it. I did some investigating and others are complaining that they have had to replace rims. Talk to another dealership about this problem and they told me that these steel rims on Aveo bend easily and have replaced alot of them. Talk to gm about this and told them what I had found out. They will not replace them. Talk with other dealership service manager and he stated that they won't because they would have to admit they know they have a problem with these rims. Call gm again talked to them about this problem and the guy at gm stated I don't care how many complaints there are NHTSA has not issued a recall. I hope that you will take a close look at this complaint. I truly believe gm knows that they have a problem and won't do anything because these vehicles were manufactured in south korea.
I have contacted you before. First, some months after I purchased car when I turned off car ignition would not turn completely off. Went on for two + years used wd forty finally got it to work most of the time. Had to go back to car hours after driving until it would release key and turn all the way off. The dash light stayed on and drained the battery. I noticed, (not all the time) that the gas pedal under my foot felt really hot; thought it was because it was a warm day etc, but it happened in cool weather also. Replaced head gasket seal twice still have oil leak. About three years ago + or -, had to have ball something in front wheel replaced. It broke again had it done again. When I accelerate left front wheel rattles. I drive slow in it and only go to school to get grand kids and to store primarily. Went to a big city and car( dragged, would not accelerate )on up ramps, went to orlando once to visit family, same thing. Two weeks after purchase car acted dead, would not start, took off battery cables, replaced them and car started. I called the ph # in owners manual at onset of problems, they said I would have to pay for diagnostics. I had repairs done by mechanics not assc'd w/ dealership, because of cost. I spent a lot on repairs from early on after purchase. I bought a car for reliability, to transport my gkids and get to go visit my family members I FL and tenn, but I only went to visit orlando once because I was afraid of driving in the mountains.
The contact owns a 2007 Chevrolet Aveo. While driving approximately 35 mph, the front end of the vehicle began to vibrate and wobble. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for diagnostic testing where the technician advised that the frontal shocks, rotors and struts were causing the failure and would have to be replaced. The rims were also replaced. The vehicle was repaired but the failure persisted. The vehicle was not further repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 30,800.
