47 problems related to engine cooling system have been reported for the 1996 Chevrolet Blazer. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Car had no heat brought to dealer said sys was all clogged up and was due to someone putting in foreign substance but was not case anti freeze failed I've heard 5000 cars had same complaint but gm not responding to mine problem is with this dex cool please let me know if u have any info on this situation.

Air conditioner starts blowing cold, when idle engine overheats and air cond. Blows hot. . . When driving about 2000rpm constantly, engine cools and air cond. Blows cold.
No heat in vehicle; was told that this could be due to faulty dex-cool antifreeze. Gm has issued a service bulletin but no recall has been done. No heat means fogged windows in the winter and in the rain. Flushed the radiator and the entire system was completely clogged with the defective, broken down antifreeze in the form of thick brown sludge.
Consumer states vehicle has a engine cooling system problem. (dex-cool engine coolant). Nlm.
Engine coolant has turned into mud. A technical service bulletin has been issued.
While driving engine does not heat up to proper temperature in the winter months, and in summer months it overheats. Chevrolet has admitted to the problem, but will not do anything about it. Please provide any further information.
At 33000 miles radiator malfunction causing the vehicle to overheat, coolant was corroded. The radiator and engine was flushed and the water pump replaced and new coolant put in.
The entire engine cooling system failed. Nlm.
Failed dex-cool. Called dex-cool and they said the problem was GMC. Called GMC and they said to contact dealer. Dealer said to drain dex-cool and flush and fill with green anti freeze immediately. Dex cool turns to gell per dealer. They notify all customers to drain dex-cool.
