Three problems related to battery dead have been reported for the 1999 Chevrolet Blazer. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
The abs systemm is not working and the is a short in the front end,. . Causing the battery to die. Amazingly after the battery was removed from the vehicle the lights on the bumper that are supposed to light up the liceness plate was still on. Long with other lights under the hood. How is this possible. ,,unless there is an alternate power source that I was never made aware of. The is police documitaton on this.
Regarding complaint on battery: at 26,000 miles the original battery was replaced. The replacement battery began leaking at approx. 38000 miles; however, battery did not fail until 39000 miles. Dealer says since battery was replaced in 36000 mile period, the replacement battery carries no warranty. This doesn't make sense. Regarding handles to recline seat back: they both broke off where connected to chair. Soft metal used. There was no heavy usage or foce applied. I feel that gm is using inferior parts and materials and seek assistance.
Vehicle is experiencing driving light and tail light failure, sometimes the lights will go out and a few hours later, they'll be back on again, the compass went crazy one time, the dealer replaced the automatic headlight switch, but the consumer is still having the same problems with the lights, the battery also failed.
