Five problems related to gasoline engine have been reported for the 1999 Chevrolet Blazer. The most recently reported issues are listed below.

Very dangerous, vehicle quits without warning while driving.

4 Gasoline Engine problem

Failure Date: 05/25/1999

When the air conditioner compressor is running there is a noticeable loss of power. When accellerating from a stop it is necessary to increase the pressure on the gas pedal to compensate for the loss of power if the compressor cycles on. If the compressor cycles off during acceleration you need to let up on the gas pedal to compensate for the increase of power. The dealer has been made aware of the problem and have tried to repair the problem but now claim this is normal for this vehicle. I have owned two other Blazers and they did not have this problem. I also have driven another 1999 Blazer and it did not display this problem. This vehicle is not safe to drive. I has been necessary to turn off the a/c in traffic. Any help you may be able to give me on this matter would be greatly appreciated. I plan to file for arbitration with the bbb as per the manufactures warranty.

5 Gasoline Engine problem

Engine will shut down at various speeds on the road. Dealer cannot determine cause of defect, almost resulting in rearend accident.
