Four problems related to other fuel system fuel gauge have been reported for the 1999 Chevrolet Blazer. The most recently reported issues are listed below.

1 Other Fuel System Fuel Gauge problem

Failure Date: 08/10/2004

Gas sending gauge is irratic, causing me the inability to know how much gas I have. This is a very serious problem which I understand is very costly. According to the several mechanics that I obtained an estimate from this is not an isolated incident. They were all very much aware of this defect in the chevy Blazer.

2 Other Fuel System Fuel Gauge problem

Failure Date: 02/27/2004

1999 Chevrolet s-10 Blazer: design flaw. The fuel gauge sending unit is made as one assembly with the fuel pump. The sending unit goes bad, but fuel pump is still in good operating condition. The cost of replacement is $600. The sending unit and fuel pump should be separate units. As my fuel gauge is not reading correctly, I must keep up with my miles driven by the odometer.

3 Other Fuel System Fuel Gauge problem

Failure Date: 05/01/2003

Fuel gauge does not work. This occurred at about 40,000 miles. Ultimately has resulted in running out of gas twice. Apparently, the fuel sending unit and fuel pump are an integral system, costing anywhere from $400 to $600 to repair.

4 Other Fuel System Fuel Gauge problem

Failure Date: 01/06/2003

The fuel gauge stopped working and/or started fluctuating. It didn't show how much fuel was left in the tank and still doesn't. I was on the interstate and ran out of gas, luckily I made it to the shoulder and wasn't hit. Now it still doesn't work and shows either a full tank or completely empty all the time.
