Bumper problems of the 2000 Chevrolet Blazer

Two problems related to bumper have been reported for the 2000 Chevrolet Blazer. The most recently reported issues are listed below.

1 Bumper problem

Failure Date: 02/03/2007

I was backing my 2000 chevy Blazer and hit my 2007 yukon at less than 2 mph. There was little to no damage sustained to the yukon, but the whole rear tailgate had to be replaced on the Blazer. A whole new rear tailgate assembly had to be replaced with all accessories.

2 Bumper problem

Failure Date: 08/14/2003

The front bumper of my 2000 Chevrolet Blazer was completely crushed when I hit a sign pole in a parking lot. It was in my blind spot (where the front windshield meets the driver-side door, that strip of metal) when I pulled slightly forward and to the left to leave the lot. I could not have been going very fast, this pole was within 4' of my car, yet this approx 4" diameter metal pole completely crushed the bumper. This is unbelievable frailty in such an important part of the protection afforded a car's occupants. I'd like chevy to replace the bumper. This is unacceptable to me. I will never purchase another chevy. It's back to volvos for this woman.
