Door Hinge problems of the 2001 Chevrolet Blazer

Two problems related to door hinge have been reported for the 2001 Chevrolet Blazer. The most recently reported issues are listed below.

1 Door Hinge problem

Failure Date: 03/01/2005

2 front door hinge pin-bushings and 1 rear door hinge pin-bushing needed to be replaced on the consumer's 2001 Chevrolet Blazer. The vehicle's bumper to bumper warranty would not cover the hinge replacements.

2 Door Hinge problem

Failure Date: 10/12/2004

There was no events leading up to this failure. . . The problem is the body frame around the striker plate on the drivers side door, is ripping apart. This vehicle is 3 years old, and has never been in an accident. This is not being caused by rust. This is a defect in the manufacturing of the vehicle.
