One problem related to power steering hose, piping, and connections has been reported for the 2001 Chevrolet Blazer. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
I purchaced this vehicle December 04, 2000 and was confident that I was buying a safe vehicle with a good history. 2 months and less than 3800 miles into service the power steering failed. After being towed to a local chevy dealer I was told the hose just fell off. They said it was repaired and I was on my way. Less than 10 miles down the road it happened again. The shaft snapped and the power steering pump was replaced. My concern is that what if I had been driving at a higher speed or in an off-road environment? also, the repair man said he has seen this happen to three other Blazers. Perhaps this should be investigated as a design flaw?.
