The master control switch on driver side went out at the same time my front & rear vents stop working. I couldn't control any windows, mirrors, door locks, interior lights, etc. The heat/air/vent quit blowing out front & rear at the exact same time. We had vents (for air) fixed first. A dealership stated that the wires had burnt into. On June 5, 2012 we finally raised the $315. 54 to fix the one problem. The control switch burn out also at the same time & will cost $463. 45 to fix the control switch. I see this is an ongoing problem with several 2006 trailblazers (you can't order an aftermarket switch due to it has to be "programmed" through the dealer which charges $84. 24 to whoever replaces it (even them at the dealership) after you purchase the switch. We live on disability (fixed income) and it takes several months to save for even one problem.
The contact owns a 2006 Chevrolet Blazer. The contact stated that while driving at 45 mph, the vehicle stalled. The vehicle was towed to the dealer for diagnostic testing. The contact was informed that the ignition switch needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 92,000.
