The noise sounded as if it were coming from the area of the console/ gear shift. The vehicle was taken to camelback Chevrolet (1233 e camelback rd, phoenix, az 85014, (602) 457-3232) where it was kept for two weeks to have a new gear shift installed. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and did not assist. The failure mileage was 3,217.
