One problem related to axle shaft seal has been reported for the 1999 Chevrolet C15. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
The front drive shaft between the front differential and transfer case came loose/unbolted while driving. It broke the transmission shift cable & oil filter. Had no control/power or engine oil. Shut vehicle down. The front driveshaft had been removed and replaced at 1800 miles to replace the front ring and pinion gears which had become prematurely worn, causing noise while driving.
