Two problems related to ignition module have been reported for the 1996 Chevrolet C1500. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Pcm failed. + +++ catalytic converter and oxygen sensor failed.
Factory computer defect caused transmission to shift or not shift in an erratic manner, it also caused internal transmission components to heat up and fail.
