Four problems related to wiring have been reported for the 1997 Chevrolet C1500. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Wires were melting into gas tank.
Electrical fire started in drivers door, possibly located at electrical mirror switch, claim 53-c814-263.
Wires inside fuel tank overheated and melted, including some of plastic parts. 0di 717119, explained exact problem.
Fuel tank melted due to wire being exposed to the connector which ignited a fire.
