Front Seat Recliner problems of the 1998 Chevrolet C1500

Three problems related to front seat recliner have been reported for the 1998 Chevrolet C1500. The most recently reported issues are listed below.

1 Front Seat Recliner problem

Failure Date: 12/22/2000

While trying to make a turn was rear ended by another vehicle. Upon impact, both driver's and passenger's seats collapsed backward, and stayed broken. Vehicle was totaled due to accident.

2 Front Seat Recliner problem

Failure Date: 04/01/1998

While making a sudden sto the front bench seats move forward, which may cause injuries. Please provide further information.

3 Front Seat Recliner problem

Failure Date: 02/14/1998

Whenever the front seatback is pulled back into position, it would fail to lock like it should. When the brakes are applied, the back of the seat would come forward. Will be taking vehicle to dealer to check problem.
